BUWATE, UGANDA
Hello Steemians. I am glad that we have a community for Ugandan Steemians. I am Mercy though I go by the name pixie pop on Steemit and I am happy to be posting on this community.
Today I am going to talk about where I reside. I stay in Buwate village which is located in Kira Parish ,Sub-county and Municipality. It is located in central Uganda in a district called Wakiso.
It’s geographical coordinates are 0 degrees 24’0 North ,32 degrees 37’ 0 East’’.
It’s neighboring towns are Najjera, Kira and Bulindo. It is a quiet town as it is still developing. At the moment it is mostly a residential area. It has some small shops and mini-supermarkets where one can buy essentials however they have limited stock thus one has to move to bigger towns like Najjera to buy the items that aren’t available.
Buwate town has been subject to some jokes that are really humorous due to the fact that it is dusty. Almost all the roads in the area are still murram thus in the hot season the roads are really dusty and in the rainy season they are so muddy that cars find it difficult to navigate the roads especially those that aren’t four wheel.
Some of the jokes have been that “while in other countries it snows in Buwate it snows dust”.
Truthfully if you have a car you may find yourself having to wash it almost everyday. The people who use public means or walk normally reach their destinations with their clothes and feet/shoes dusty thus someone has to move with wipes or something that can help them clean up when they reach their destinations.
Above is an image showing how some of the roads look like in Buwate. Most of them are feeder roads connecting to the main road. Hopefully in future the roads will be worked on to ease transport.
Buwate feels like your living far away from town as it has that village setting as one can even see livestock in the neighborhood

If you are looking for a town that is quiet and just feels like as if your away from town and it chaos then Buwate is the place.
