MODULE 4 - WHERE DO WRITING IDEAS COME FROM?
All images downloaded from pixabay and customized by me using Canva.
Ideas come from anywhere and everywhere and at times you're hardly expecting. This is why every writer is advised to always carry a notepad like a badge of honor.
If you can't, then download an e-diary so that you can type anything that comes to you anywhere with your phone. (You're always with your phone right? So you might as well always write).
Personally, ideas come to me sometimes in annoying moments.
I've had a long day and as a tired Nigerian lady, my natural response should be to sleep it out but no! It's at that time that they flood my head, sometimes annoying me more than mosquito bites.
Sometimes ideas come to me when I'm feeling sad and low. Probably when I'm listening to a slow sad song at night before sleeping.
So I devised a strategy to either keep a pen and paper above my head or use my phone. Sometimes I even fall asleep with my pen intertwined with my fingers.
So to get ideas,
- Be observant of your environment
- Be curious
- Carry a notepad
- Engage in random conversations
- Stay longer on the news
- Mediate
- Watch your feelings
You're good to go!
