YourMateTravels#18 - Over and Out
DEUTSCH UNTERHALB
After those days in Bangkok I’ll take some time to reflect on different stuff. Don’t know what’s up? Check my last post (bottom).
But before I become quiet for about a week you may know where we went and how we got there. We decided to check out a quiet place without parties and generally barely any tourists: Koh Sichang.

Nach den Tagen in Bangkok nehm ich mir mal Zeit, um über ein paar Dinge zu reflektieren. Du weißt nicht, worum es geht? Lies den letzten Post (unten).
Aber bevor ich für ungefähr eine Woche verstumme, dürft ihr natürlich wissen, wohin wir gefahren und wie wir dort hingekommen sind. Wir entschieden uns für einen Ort ohne Partys, der touristisch wenig erschlossen ist: Koh Sichang.

Since my budget for this month got shrunk down by the incident we’re now travelling cheaper - good for both of us, haha.
Let’s do this:
Hostel -> Ekamai Bus Terminal (30 min via UBER): 235 THB (=6 €)
Bangkok -> Sri Racha (2 h via Bus): 87 THB (=2,2 €)
TukTuk to Ferry: 80 THB (=2 €)(rip-off; but we in hurry)
Sri Racha -> Koh Sichang (30 min via ferry): 50 THB (=1,28 €)
Koh Sichang habour -> Hotel (20 min by feet): free :D
7,48 € in total per person.
Da mein Budget für den Monat durch die Vorkommnisse in Bangkok geschrumpft wurde, reisen wir jetzt billiger - gut für uns beide, haha.
Auf geht’s:
Hostel -> Ekamai Bus Terminal (30 min via UBER): 235 THB (=6 €)
Bangkok -> Sri Racha (2 h via Bus): 87 THB (=2,2 €)
TukTuk zur Fähre: 80 THB (=2 €)(wucher; aber wir in Eile)
Sri Racha -> Koh Sichang (30 min via ferry): 50 THB (=1,28 €)
Koh Sichang Hafen -> Hotel (20 min zu Fuß): gratis :D7,48 € in Summe pro Person.
Koh Sichang - A Gem Near Bangkok
About 5000 people live on this island of 17.3 km². Tourists seen so far: maybe 40. White ones (incl. us): 10?
Although it’s a small island, they have a police station, marine police station, military base, hospital and an international supermarket. Obviously they also have numerous local shops & restaurants/food stands.
Needless to say, this is way less touristic and to be honest: I love it.
Most locals are friendly and seem happy to see tourists (obviously bringing money). One feels welcome here and is carried away by the relaxed atmosphere immediately. This appears to be a good place to kick back for a week.
Ungefähr 5000 Leute leben auf dieser 17.3 km² großen Insel. Bisher gesehene Touristen: vielleicht 40. Davon Weiße (inkl. uns): 10?
Obwohl es eine kleine Insel ist, haben sie doch eine Polizeistation, Meerespolizei, einen Militärstützpunkt, ein Krankenhaus und sogar einen internationalen Supermarkt. Klarerweise gibt es auch unzählige kleine Shops und Restaurants/Essenstände.Ohne Frage ist es hier kaum touristisch und ganz ehrlich: ich liebe es.
Die meisten Einheimischen sind freundlich und scheinen glücklich darüber, Touristen (die natürlich Geld bringen) zu sehen. Man fühlt sich willkommen und wird gleich von der entspannenden Atmosphäre mitgenommen. Dies scheint mir ein geeigneter Ort, um mal eine Woche auszuspannen.

To get an impression of this island, take a 30 minute walk to the beach with us.
Um einen Eindruck von der Insel zu bekommen, nehmen wir dich auf einen 30-minütigen Spaziergang zum Strand mit.
The circle of nature is wonderful.
And now for the cheapest hotel on the island - ours:
If you looked closely you may have noticed: no lights. Only the corridor on the second floor is alight. That's because we're the only guests, haha. It's all creepy and looks abandoned. We've got ants in our room and it's a little dirty but still I pity the owner and gladly pay for the accommodation - incidentally, way more than in the hostel before!
Der genaue Beobachter stellt fest: kein Licht ist an. Nur im Zweiten Stock brennt Licht im Gang. Das liegt daran, dass wir die einzigen Gäste sind, haha. Es ist gruselig und sieht verlassen aus. Wir haben zwar Ameisen am Zimmer und es ist etwas dreckig, aber doch hab ich Mitleid mit dem Besitzer und zahle gerne für die Unterkunft - deutlich mehr, als im Hostel davor allerdings!
Don't you worry - I'll have a better home next week. Also I already got in contact with my bank and for it's a german account I should get my money back in regards of BGB §675u. Keep your fingers crossed!
Macht euch mal keine Sorgen - nächste Woche hab' ich ne bessere Unterkunft. Außerdem bin ich bereits in Kontakt mit meiner Bank und da es ein deutsches Konto ist, sollte ich mein Geld aufgrund BGB §675u. Drückt mir die Daumen!

wow its like another world there, thats amazing ! The pigs are funny though, are they everywhere ? :D
yeah, they are! But they are shyer than the dogs so the don't walk on the street too much. Rather in the gardens, between houses and in the backcountry. ;D

Es ist für mich wahnsinnig spannend, wie Menschen leben und wie es fernab der touristischen Hotspots aussieht - da kommt so eine kleine Insel gerade recht!

A lot of photos - and photos say more tha thousand words. Relax and enjoy the best food you get. Among so many residents you will learn some thai expressions soon, I suppose. How are food and drinks there? How is the water?

Komme hier jedenfalls weniger in Kontakt mit locals, als im letzten Urlaub. Geht derzeit noch nix weiter - momentan hab ich auch nicht so viel Freude dran. Einfach entspannen.
Wasser definitiv kälter, weniger salzig und sauberer, als in Indonesien.
Na, solange es nicht am Gefrierpunkt ist wie hier... Wenn man zu zweit unterwegs ist, ist sowieso alles etwas anders. Wir sind fast eingeschneit ihierzulande.
