Following The Trail

The Ghosts Shadow has been following Captain Moss for two days. Completely unaware of his presence, even though he seemed highly aware of his surroundings, Captain Moss oddly seemed to move together with a handful of officers all the time.

It was during the course of the second day that The Ghosts Shadow realized something was going down.

Captain Moss and his officers came running out of the lower district precinct, jumped into two of the police vehicles and screeched off.

The Ghosts Shadow calmly walked over to his motorcycle, loaded up his on screen GPS tracker and saw the vehicles busy speeding out towards the outskirts of town.

“Where are you heading off to?” he thought to himself, smiling. With that he started up his motorcycle and started following their trail.

As he went speeding through the lower district, he made sure to keep a safe distance and occasionally chose an alternative route. It seemed to him as if they were headed straight towards the cliffs. A few minutes later, he saw the two vehicles come to a stop. The vehicles have driven past the end of the road and stopped in the middle of a field crossing over towards the cliffs. He decided to ride to the end of the road and hide the motorcycle in some brush nearby. “It’s not far” he thought to himself. “If I run I can reach the vehicles within 2 minutes.”

The Ghosts Shadow had always been a strong runner, running ever since he was a young boy.

He wasn’t sure if it had to do with the flashbacks he had.

“Run, Joel, run!” he heard the voice in his head screaming at him. As he looked back he saw a teenage boy being grabbed by men cloaked in white lab suits, masks covering their mouths. “Run!” the boy shouted.

Joel was running as fast as he could. His little legs carrying him across a gravel road and into a dense forest.

He didn’t know what these flashes meant. All he knew was that he’d been running for as long as he can remember.

The Ghosts Shadow shook the thought. By that time he’d already run past the midway point towards where the vehicles had stopped. There were few trees and brush in the vicinity, he thought. Although he felt he didn’t really need the extra cover he was always aware of a backup plan.

As he came closer to the vehicles he could see just beyond that there seemed to be a scuffle of sorts going on. The Ghosts Shadow moved in closer while sending a message to Miss McKay.

Elizabeth, send backup to my current location.

SEND.

NOTHING.

“Shit” he thought.

The reception was very poor on the outskirts of the island of Satchmo.

Joel decided to keep his firearm at the ready. Finally, he had a clear line of sight.

Out there, right in front of his eyes, he saw some men lying strewn about on the grass. He saw Chief Moss, some officers and a few other men all seemingly facing up against one individual with his back towards him.

“What is going on here?” he thought to himself.

At that moment he saw a woman dragging herself away from the scene of the scuffle. She seemed to be in really bad shape and it appeared as if the man with his back turned was fighting to keep them all away from her.

That’s when The Ghosts Shadow’s natural instinct and ability kicked in. “Get that woman to safety” he thought.

All the while The Faceless Man had been watching through the eyes of his Disciples, controlling those fighting against Cameron. He picked up on some new energy, however he couldn’t see anyone. He decided that he needed to get closer. He gave the order to his other disciples and they started moving closer towards where Cameron was fighting to save Stella.
