Chapter 6 - The Faceless Man

The Faceless Man can only be described as a faceless monster, with bare facial features and a distorted mouth. Even though he has no eyes he is able to see permanently through the eyes of those he controls. He isn’t angry though. The power he received from those experiments all those years ago suits him perfectly. He always craves power and from a young age he already had dark thoughts. What makes him dangerous now is that he has the power to go with his intelligence and he feels that he is at his peak right now.

The Faceless man was standing in an old abandoned hangar overlooking his disciples. The entire airport had been abandoned years ago since there were no flights going in or out anymore. The only way to get in or out was through The Bridge Border.

“You all serve me “he thought “and I have been given a gift. I’ll use my gift to bring darkness and fear to those who are not worthy. Death will come to you all.” The Faceless Man saw ordinary humans as being weak. They simply needed to be removed. He was being calculating though, not wanting to create too many disruptions until he was ready for his large scale operations. Nonetheless, he was still proud of his accomplishments so far. “So much death has already been sown by my orders” he thought. Yet he is but only a myth at this stage. “Soon, the myth will become a fearful truth and a legend that will live forever” smiling at his own thoughts the Faceless Man sat down on his makeshift throne, a terrible throne made up of human skeletons.

He had managed to gain control of most of the human ‘specimens’ born from the experiment. He was now communicating with his disciples “Yes, we are all Specimens. Specimens of darkness sent to clean this world of its filth. I have seen what needs to be done next.” He has had a flash of a vision similar to Catherine’s although his wasn’t nearly as strong as hers. “Tomorrow you will go out and get her for me” he said. “This will strengthen my cause” he thought to himself.

He was excited about his next move. He also noticed that Catherine had another Specimen with her. One he’s never picked up on before. This got him even more curious and excited since he’s never picked up on Catherine with another of their kind. “There must be something special about this one” he thought.

In the past the Faceless Man had come close to capturing Catherine. Luckily for her he was just too far away and couldn’t hold his control over her mind. “Her mind and abilities are strong” he thought “Yet if I’m close enough she won’t be able to get away.” His control was dependent on a combination of how strong the individuals mind is and the distance between them.

The Faceless Man was excited about Catherine. Her ability to see so well would be very useful to him. He was only able to see a quick glimpse of the present and it did not happen naturally. He couldn’t control it however Catherine, well, she was different. Being able to see the past, present and future as well as controlling it much better got him really excited. “This would be a real asset that will help me to keep my distance from anyone trying to intervene” he thought.

The Faceless Man had given the order. Tomorrow, his troops will bring him a gift.
