The Widow is in my head this morning
Here is like 4 minutes of it, which does cover the part I had stuck in my head. This album was kind of weird. When it first came out, it was 5 really long tracks. This one was the shortest at about 5:50. Then, they released a version with 12 tracks, but it was the same album. I think that was probably both because of services like iTunes (which was around back in 2005, but not streaming) as well as a shorter attention span of people these days than in prog rock's heyday in the 1970s.
I've been listening to quite a bit of The Mars Volta lately, so it's not surprising that I woke up with this song in my head today. I wasn't sure which song it was, but luckily, you can search by lyrics in iTunes now. I searched for "he knows that the taste is such to die for" and this song came right up.
This post is part of an ongoing series in which I document the songs which are in my head immediately upon waking.
I don't know if this is something that is common with everyone or not, but I seemingly wake up with a song already in my head every single morning.
There is often no reason why it should be there. I hadn't heard it in the previous day, hadn't discussed it, nothing.
Do you wake up with songs in your head on a regular basis? What song was in your head this morning? Comment below, I'd love to hear from you!
