It's In Your Head, Zom-bay, Zom-bay, Zom-bay-ay-ay-ay-oh-oh: Cold November Rain
I don't know if this is something that is common with everyone or not, but I seemingly wake up with a song already in my head every single morning. There is often no reason why it should be there. I hadn't heard it in the previous day, hadn't discussed it, nothing.
TODAY'S ENTRY:
Guns n' Roses - November Rain
First off, I totally know how this song is in my head, because I listened to it. Why did I listen to it, though? Well, it is November, and it's slightly cold, and it's been raining a lot. That's not exactly why.
No, I'm afraid you'll have to read a boring, pointless story if you really want to know why I listened to the song. My wife asked me to take a picture with my phone of the paper calendar on the fridge that she uses to keep track of our schedule. I use Google Calendar like everyone else, but she's old school with calendars and that's fine with me.
Anyway, as a joke, I took a sharpie and added the words "cold" and "rain" before and after November at the top of the calendar. She asked "what's that all about?!"
I was flabbergasted. "It's like the song, I said."
"What song?"
At this point, my head is about to explode. My wife is 5 years younger than me, so maybe that explains it, but I wasn't born when "Let it Be" was released, and I definitely know the song.
After we listened to it, she did in fact recall hearing the song many times before. I remember the video basically shot for shot, but we grew up liking different things obviously.
Do you wake up with songs in your head on a regular basis? What song was in your head this morning? Comment below, I'd love to hear from you!

I will gladly take a little GnR as an ear worm to replace this one that is jammed in my head when reading this post.
I shouldn't like these emo posers at all but there are songs I like. Aggressive enough and the production is typically overdone but good guitar tone.
Anyhow, on to listening to some good Slash riffs.
ha I don't know that song or band, and I think I may want to keep it that way? I'm not sure.
Depends. I don't wanna be one of those old fogeys who say that there is no good music nowadays. So I search for the good stuff still. I feel I have to look past the margarine/formulaic production to find good often but that may be the age again.
Anyhow, I can ignore the fashion/image and like the energy of the songs.
I was reading some trivia about the song this morning, and apparently one of the guitar solos in the song is the very first thing Slash improvised when he heard the song. Pretty cool. He's the best.
Hell yah! Here's me as Slash one Halloween hangin' with Amy Winehouse before she checked out.
haha very nice!
I love this song, but don't call rain pls :)
