Taranis

Taranis fue por mucho tiempo un mundo cerrado a los humanos, originalmente se intentó su terraformación, pero el proceso debió detenerse poco antes de la introducción de las primeras formas de vida bacteriana, pues se detectó la aparición de pequeñas colonias de cianobacterias que se pensó, se habían originado naturalmente; por lo que, según las directivas del Parlamento, el proceso de terraformación debió ser detenido, observaciones posteriores demostraron que se trataba de algún tipo de contaminación transferida durante las visitas de los ingenieros supervisores.

Cuando se hubo dilucidado el error, se reactivo la transformación del planeta y hoy se trataba de un mundo santuario para vida vegetal y ecosistemas lacustres, uno de sus rasgos distintivos era la presencia, en uno de sus continentes, de un gigantesco lago o mar interior, de diez mil quinientos millones de kilómetros cuadrados, el más grande de los mundos conocidos. Este lago fue poblado con variedad de criaturas, unas originarias de la Tierra y otras creadas por manipulación genética.

Con el tiempo, fue autorizada la construcción de instalaciones turísticas para alojar a algunos pocos afortunados, cuyas solicitudes de visita fueran aprobadas, después de pasar largos periodos en espera.

Varios pequeños hoteles, suficientes para alojar a tres millones de huéspedes, así como diferentes atracciones centradas en el lago, fueron construidas, desde balnearios y parques acuáticos, hasta embarcaciones autoguiadas, que paseaban a los visitantes por el gigantesco cuerpo de agua.

Después de varios siglos de recibir a viajeros de todos los mundos colonizados, las actividades turísticas de Taranis debieron ser suspendidas, motivado al decaimiento de la órbita del planeta, pasados algunos cientos de años de esto, el planeta eran un mundo inhabitable, su agua superficial se había evaporado y cualquier forma de vida que no hubiese sido rescatada y reubicada, había perecido abrazada.

Este es uno de los tres casos conocidos, de planetas que perdieron sus condiciones de habitabilidad después de haber sido terraformados por los descendientes de la colonia Perseo.

Taranis

Taranis was for a long time a world closed to humans, originally its terraforming was attempted, but the process had to stop shortly before the introduction of the first forms of bacterial life, because it was detected the appearance of small colonies of cyanobacteria thought to have originated naturally, so, according to Parliament's directives, the process of terraforming had to be stopped, later observations showed that it was some kind of pollution transferred during the visits of supervising engineers.

When the error had been elucidated, the transformation of the planet was reactivated and today it was a sanctuary world for plant life and lake ecosystems, one of its distinctive features was the presence, in one of its continents, of a gigantic lake or inland sea, of ten thousand five hundred million square kilometers, the largest of the known worlds. This lake was populated with a variety of creatures, some native to the Earth and others created by genetic manipulation.

With time, the construction of tourist facilities was authorized to lodge a few fortunate ones, whose requests of visit were approved, after spending long periods in wait.

Several small hotels, enough to accommodate three million guests, as well as various attractions centered on the lake, were built, from spas and water parks, to self-guided boats, which walked visitors through the gigantic body of water.

After several centuries of receiving travelers from all colonized worlds, the tourist activities of Taranis had to be suspended, motivated by the decay of the planet's orbit, after a few hundred years of this, the planet was an inhabitable world, its surface water had evaporated and any form of life that had not been rescued and relocated, had perished embraced.

This is one of the three known cases, of planets that lost their habitability conditions after having been terraformed by the descendants of the Perseus colony.
