El Destino de Fenrir
-Creo que es la primera vez que tengo que transportar algo tan grande- comentaba Melisa a través de la radio.
-Sí, no sólo para ti, si más no me equivoco, estás estableciendo un récord, nunca se había transportado un edificio tan grande, al menos no en una sola pieza- escuchó responder al capitán de la nave que la escoltaba.
-Espero que pongan una bonita imagen mía, al lado de la entrada en el libro de récords- respondió ella y pudo escuchar las risas al otro lado de la línea.
En la medida que los descendientes de Pegasus proliferaban a través de la galaxia, siempre fue una pregunta común para ellos, ¿qué había pasado con las restantes naves colonizadoras salidas de la Tierra?. Sus destinos estaban en un radio menor a los trescientos años luz de la Tierra, había muchos planetas y satélites que pudieron ser habitados que se encontraban en ese volumen de espacio, y aunque ya se habían explorado la mayoría de los que estaban en la base de datos de los planes de colonización, a parte de los restos de la nave Orfeo, en el hoy planeta Heracles, sede del Parlamento, no se había encontrado ningún rastro del destino de las otras ciento cuarenta y ocho naves.
Esta incógnita se mantuvo así hasta que, tras cumplirse 12.853 años de la fundación de Perseo, en una de las lunas de un gigante gaseoso, situado casi a quinientos años luz, se encontraron los restos de otra colonia, el hallazgo fue prácticamente casual, según el plan de colonización, el destino era uno de los dos mundos situados en la zona de habitabilidad de la estrella, pero por alguna razón desconocida para ese momento, la colonia fue establecida en aquella luna.
La nave a la que le fue encomendada la exploración de aquellos planetas, tras descubrir que no había rastro de la colonia en ninguno de los dos, notó la presencia de trazas de oxígeno, en la atmósfera de una de las lunas del primero de los gigantes gaseosos, lo que los impulsó a verificar si existían formas de vida fotosintética, lo que encontraron fue la nave Fenrir y a su establecida, pero completamente desactivada, colonia.
El estudio de los registros de la IA de Fenrir, mostró que la colonia había cerrado a casi 18 años de haberse establecido, tras la muerte de sus ocho últimos sobrevivientes, los registros mostraron la trágica historia de cómo, los casi ocho mil niños colonos, fueron muriendo paulatinamente, a causa de diferentes mutaciones y enfermedades genéticas, los datos del viaje que los condujo a esta ubicación, mostraron que la nave había sido irradiada con grandes cantidades de radiación ultravioleta y gamma, proveniente de una gigante azul que estaba a menos de 0,3 años luz de distancia de su ruta. Fue casi milagroso que hubiesen sobrevivido tal cantidad de embriones y más aún que algunos de los niños hayan llegado a los diecisiete años.
La sobrevivencia de la colonia durante ese periodo, a pesar de todos los factores en contra, mostraron la dedicación de las nodrizas, que cumplieron con su principal prerrogativa, mantener a toda costa la vida de la colonia, al punto que, aun cuando desde un principio se podría considerar inviable, a causa de la grave afectación genética de los niños, las nodrizas se empeñaron en resguardar sus vida hasta que no hubo nadie a quien proteger, para luego desactivarse y quedar ellas y los restos, casi inalterados de la nave y las edificaciones satélites, como testimonio del drama que allí se había desarrollado.
Hoy Melisa Choy, piloteaba una nave remolcadora que transportaba el fragmento rectangular de aquella luna, en el que se encontraba la colonia Fenrir, se había decidido, removerlo por completo de aquel hostil mundo y transportarlo íntegramente a un mundo protegido, con condiciones de habitabilidad, en el mismo sistema planetario de Heracles, en el que sólo existían formas de vida vegetal nativas de la Tierra y que fue seleccionado como reserva ambiental; en él sería reubicada, como testimonio de un fragmento de la humanidad que se perdió en la hostilidad del espacio, un fragmento que compartía la misma carga genética que hoy poseían los descendientes de Perseo.

The study of the records of the AI of Fenrir, showed that the colony had closed almost 18 years of being established, after the death of its last eight survivors, the records showed the tragic history of how, the almost eight thousand child settlers, they died gradually due to different mutations and genetic diseases, the records of the trip that took them to this location, showed that the ship had been irradiated with large amounts of ultraviolet and gamma radiation, coming from a blue giant that was less than 0.3 light years away from their route. It was almost miraculous that so many embryos had survived and even more so that some of the children had reached the age of seventeen.
The survival of the colony during this period, despite all the factors against it, showed the dedication of the wet nurses, who fulfilled their main prerogative, to maintain at all costs the life of the colony, to the point that, even though from a the principle could be considered unfeasible, because of the serious genetic impact of the children, the wet nurses insisted on protecting their lives until there was no one to protect, then deactivated and left them and the remains, almost unaltered from the ship and the satellite buildings, as testimony of the drama that had developed there.
Today Melisa Choy, piloting a towing ship that carried the rectangular fragment of that moon, which was the colony Fenrir, had decided, completely uprooted from this hostile world and transport it entirely to a protected world, with conditions of habitability, in the same planetary system of Heracles, in which only native forms of plant life existed on Earth and which was selected as an environmental reserve; in it, it would be relocated, as a testimony of a fragment of humanity that was lost in the hostility of space, a fragment that shared the same genetic load that descendants of Perseus possessed today.
