The elections for the Steem Alliance Working Group take place on Sunday.
The Working Group is being formed to manage the process for the selection of the proposal for the Foundation to foster the steem ecosystem.
Nominations for the Working Group are being taken on this post...
Nominations will also be taken in the meeting to be held in the Steem Alliance Discord on Sunday starting at 6pm UTC / 1pm EST...

10,000 SP Delegation for a Year
@theycallmedan is running a poll to select one project to delegate 10,000 SteemPower to for one year.
After inviting initial nominations from the community, ten projects have now been shortlisted - @Actifit, @Crowdmind, @Dsound, @Freewritehouse, @Qurator, @Spunkeemonkee, @SteemitBloggers, @SteemNurse, @Team-CN, @Votovzla.

Join the BLOCK Party
A group of US Steemians is organising a major meetup in Colorado in June.
As well as the usual socialising the 4 day event is going to include music and comedy from the likes of @katrina-ariel, @paintingangels, @zipporah, @carrieallen, @chrisroberts and @enginewitty.

Seeing the headline for the Techcrunch article further drives home how inept and desperate Steemit's management has become ...
While most of the laid-off workforce, being developers, would at least theoretically provide immediate value to the platform in the form of features that would attract, retain, and enhance the productivity of the user base who they themselves do the best marketing, organic word-of-mouth, they hire a person of 'speculative value' exhibiting her 'specialization' -- every amateur blogger the first week they try to monetize internet content go for Adsense, and Amazon affiliate marketing on their wordpress blog!
It will be interesting to see how the advertising goes 😉
