I am releasing a 50 day daily devotional about the end-times as revealed in Scripture. Along with the text, I will be providing a video where I cover the text of the day, and @verbal-d will be providing an audio version of it. That way, whether you want to read, watch, or listen, you'll be able to enjoy this study as you wish.

The plan is to release this devotional over the next 50 consecutive days, but life may "get in the way." We will do our best, but please be patient with me if I fall behind.

DAY 34 - TIMING : Part 2

Concerning the great multitude that we left off with yesterday, one of the elders standing near the throne has a brief conversation with John.

“And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” (Revelation 7:13-14)

We must take notice of the term “great tribulation” used here. I believe that this is the same “great tribulation” that begins after the Abomination of Desolation, when the Antichrist persecutes believers.

“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.” (Matthew 24:21)

This “great tribulation” begins in Matthew after the revealing of the Antichrist, and apparently ends just before the sun and moon are darkened, the stars fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens are shaken.

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:” (Matthew 24:29)

Though the moon turning to blood is not specifically mentioned here in Matthew, could this still be the event before the “Day of the Lord?” Let us quickly compare with the passage from Revelation 6 to determine this.

“And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.” (Revelation 6:12-14)

Matthew 24:29 – “shall the sun be darkened”
Revelation 6:12-14 – “the sun became black as sackcloth of hair”

Matthew 24:29 – “the moon shall not give her light”
Revelation 6:12-14 – “the moon became as blood”

Matthew 24:29 – “the stars fall from heaven”
Revelation 6:12-14 – “the stars fell unto the earth”

Matthew 24:29 – “the powers of the heavens shall be shaken”
Revelation 6:12-14 – “the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together”

You can judge for yourself whether these passages speak of the same events, but I have drawn my conclusion for the moment.

Point #1: The “great multitude” that appears in heaven came out of the “great tribulation.”

Point #2: This could be the same “great tribulation” that believers are subjected to by the hand of the Antichrist, which is not God’s wrath.

If anyone is really interested, I did post the entire volume through an alt account over a year ago. I did so as an experiment to see how hard it would be for a new user to get noticed on steemit, so I didn't let anyone know that I was doing it. It is not the purpose of this series to just copy all of my previous work, but instead to transform it into some new outlets by releasing it in an audio and video format, to broaden the reach that this work has.

Again, though I will certainly never claim to know it all, I do believe that many are being lead astray by some popular beliefs. I hope that this project will be able to help many others understand the end-times more accurately. Thanks!
