This is DAY TWENTY ONE of the daily devotional.

I am releasing a 50 day daily devotional about the end-times as revealed in Scripture. Along with the text, I will be providing a video where I cover the text of the day, and @verbal-d will be providing an audio version of it. That way, whether you want to read, watch, or listen, you'll be able to enjoy this study as you wish.

The plan is to release this devotional over the next 50 consecutive days, but life may "get in the way." We will do our best, but please be patient with me if I fall behind.

Hopefully, the past three days on this issue have been a beneficial time of gaining insight on “not knowing the day or hour,” based on what the Bible actually says. I believe that it would still be beneficial to drive this point home from another direction, by using logic and reason. If someone makes a statement claiming that they do not know the day or hour when something is going to occur, does that mean that the event must be imminent? Just because they do not know at what time it will occur, does that mean that it could occur at any time? Truthfully, such a statement only necessitates ignorance, not imminence. If I do not know when an event will occur, I am ignorant as to the exact time that it will occur. Although I may not know exactly when, it still may be possible to know when not. This can be illustrated multiple ways.
For instance, many people claimed that the world would end in 2012. Though we may not be able to determine when the world will end based on the Bible, we can definitely determine when not to a certain degree. Since a rebuilt Temple will be required prior to the “Abomination of Desolation,” and since that occurs in the midst of a seven year covenant, we know that there will still be at least 3 ½ years left, minimum, after the “Abomination of Desolation” occurs. Since this event had not yet occurred by the halfway point of 2009, I reasoned that there was zero chance, based upon the Bible, of the world ending in December of 2012. Though I still did not know when it would end, I certainly did know when not.

The presidency could be used to illustrate the same point. Generally, the next person will become president four years after the previous election. Since an impeachment or death could also remove a president from his role, we do not know the day or the hour when the next president will take office. However, we do know when not. Unless the president dies, is impeached, or the time comes for the next election and inauguration, no new individual will be filling that office.

If we open the Bible and evaluate situations that fall into this category, two immediately come to mind; Simeon and Hezekiah. Neither of these men knew the day or hour of their deaths, but they did know that it would not occur until after a certain time.

“And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.” (Luke 2:25-26)

Simeon was a rare case, but a true account nonetheless. He did not know when he would die, but he did know for sure that it would not be until after “he had seen the Lord’s Christ. Only after that event occurred would his death become imminent, and able to happen at any time from then on. For Simeon, seeing Jesus was the “tree beginning to bud”.

Hezekiah’s situation was similar.

“Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee… And I will add unto thy days fifteen years…” (2 Kings 20:5-6)

Thought the day and hour were still a mystery, the time period in which his death would happen was not.

Point #1: Not knowing when does not necessitate imminence, only ignorance.

Point #2: Even if we do not know when, we can still know when not.

If anyone is really interested, I did post the entire volume through an alt account over a year ago. I did so as an experiment to see how hard it would be for a new user to get noticed on steemit, so I didn't let anyone know that I was doing it. You can click here to a post that has links to the entire 50 days of this devotional if you really want to read ahead. That information has always been available there since I first posted it. It is not the purpose of this series to just copy all of my previous work, but instead to transform it into some new outlets by releasing it in an audio and video format, to broaden the reach that this work has.

Again, though I will certainly never claim to know it all, I do believe that many are being lead astray by some popular beliefs. I hope that this project will be able to help many others understand the end-times more accurately. Thanks!

Just in case you are new to this series and wanted to check out the previous audio or videos, here are links to the posts from each day of this series.

Also - A special thanks to @allforthegood for helping design my cover image!

Until next time…

explore different ideas and share among us we can also do the same this will benefit all of us

Sorry, I've been back in the real world the last few days so I haven't been able to read these. I'm catching up as we speak. I actually thought day 20 was a pseudo ending point but you added another day to hammer it home. :-) Good work as always....

Thank you for sharing this message, it widens my mind...

Thank you @papa-pepper for your great posts..
The church has been bombarded with doctrines upon doctrines which sometimes don't even make biblical sense.. It's time we all go back to the Word and understand things for ourselves..
Great job

"Point #2: Even if we do not know when, we can still know when not."

This point is so clear and it is even applied to our daily activities. There are always sign that tells us things we ought to know even if we don't. Saying don't "even go there," doesn't literarily mean you shouldn't but should becareful even if you have to go. That is a sign that you should know when to go there ifnyou have to. God always give signs for everything. I really like your teachings, you are a man of knowledge.

Time is interesting.

One does not know which snowflake will cause the avalanche, nor the exact time, but probability is quite well defined.

So, it is with time. All of the strings of your life all have connections, and certain events tie all of those strings. It is quite apparent to see the coming point. It is unavoidable, unless a lot of people untie their strings. But, when, that is an unknown. It is as the train tracks are laid, but the speed at which the locomotive goes down those tracks is in OUR control.

Peace on earth will happen. It is a culmination of many other strings coming together. Everyone learning to be more compassionate. The lights being turned on in DC and other capitals showing the darkness of those who would rather hide from the light. People actually learning a way to govern that doesn't destroy...

@papa-pepper. This post really got me thinking of the end-time.

Point #2: Even if we do not know when, we can still know when not.

Yes! The book of revelation gave us some signs.

Good post @ papa-pepper, I also have a new post please if there is free time visit my block briefly ..

I am not a Christian but that does not keep me away from reading your stuff.Good things are found in every religion. We should respect each and every religion. But it is very sad and heart braking to see how people divide themselves according to various groups in the same religion or different religions and fight to gain the power. The real power not lies in the amount of the territory we have, but on the size of the good things in our hearts

What will happen next

Good information

The Bible States categorically that it is the world of ungodly humans that will end, as for the earth, it will remain forever Psalm 37:9-10

Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.
Revelation 21:1 NKJV

My first time to see this 50 day series on end times., and it happened that the topic is ignorance.. Well, makes a lot of sense to me. I guess end times also can be applied in our own end life. Its difficult to comprehend or visualize the end of everything. Maybe I'd prefer end of my life than end times. In my faith, knowledge and experience. I believe maybe after our end life, we will know when the end times would come. Everything will be revealed. As long as we're still here in this temporary life, we would still be ignorant in so many things/ways, no matter how old we are, how hard we try to understand something. There were/are times when I think to myself, "Oh this is it! This is what I'm expecting." After a certain/perfect time, it didn't happen. Sometimes, something happened, it just happened, I didn't even expecting it. And then I realized that was what I was thinking long time ago.
Anyways, thank you for sharing your ideas and thoughts.
Keep up the GREAT work!

You know, I've never been a very religious person, but not an atheist either. Possibly more of an agnostic, I guess. But it's rather strange, just the last couple of years I've the strangest feeling that something is about to happen. Something very big! Almost a sense of impending doom. It's like we're building up to something.

Thanks for your post. You have a new follower.

Cool! Thanks for checking it out, I'm glad that you liked it!

You're welcome, and it has gotten me thinking.

Your government over-lords request that you stop thinking for yourself and do as they say!

Haha, they're gonna have a little problem with me. ;-)

I believe in God, but without a special fanaticism. But I try to live and act as I would like to do so with me. I love this world and I want to make it even better. I am amazed at your comprehensive skills! For me, until now, a mystery - when you all have time?

LOL - I've got the same amount of time as others, I just try to structure my life in a way that I can take full advantage of it.

This requires discipline and patience. Many do not have this ....

Awesome brother

Still waiting for more. Keep it coming at papa-pepper
