50 DAYS TO UNDERSTANDING THE END-TIMES MORE ACCURATELY - DAY 8 : THE EXALTATION OF THE ANTICHRIST - AUDIO & VIDEO

in #spirituality6 years ago

This is DAY EIGHT of the daily devotional.

I am releasing a 50 day daily devotional about the end-times as revealed in Scripture. Along with the text, I will be providing a video where I cover the text of the day, and @verbal-d will be providing an audio version of it. That way, whether you want to read, watch, or listen, you'll be able to enjoy this study as you wish.

The plan is to release this devotional over the next 50 consecutive days, but life may "get in the way." We will do our best, but please be patient with me if I fall behind.

DAY 8 - THE EXALTATION OF THE ANTICHRIST

Because God reveals to us events that occur during the “Seventieth Week of Daniel” and characteristics of the “Day of the Lord”, we can use the Bible to compare these two.

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” (Daniel 9:27)

We see an event mentioned as occurring “in the midst of the week” which is spoken of elsewhere. Jesus repeatedly refers to it as the “Abomination of Desolation”.

“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)” (Matthew 24:15)

“But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:” (Mark 13:14)

Twice in the New Testament we see Jesus refer to “the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet”. This is therefore the same event referred to by Daniel, “in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate”, which happens in the middle of the “Seventieth Week of Daniel”. This same event is also commented on elsewhere, in both the Old and New Testaments. Please read the following and see if you notice a trend. “And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.” (Daniel 11:36) "Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” (2 Thessalonians 2:4)
At the time of the “Abomination of Desolation” the Antichrist will exalt himself. Daniel 11:36 records that “he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god” and 2 Thessalonians 2:4 states that he will “exalteth himself above all that is called God”. We can rest absolutely assured that the Antichrist will exalt himself near the halfway point of the “Seventieth Week of Daniel”. Twice we have already been told that the Lord alone shall be exalted during the “Day of the Lord”. Now we are told twice that the Antichrist will exalt himself right in the middle of the “Seventieth Week of Daniel”. Obviously these two time periods cannot be the same, and the “Day of the Lord” cannot be a time period that includes the entire “Seventieth Week of Daniel”.

Point #1: The Lord alone will be exalted during the “Day of the Lord”.

Point #2: The Antichrist exalts himself right in the middle of the “Seventieth Week of Daniel”.

Point #3: These are in opposition to one another.

CLOSER

If anyone is really interested, I did post the entire volume through an alt account over a year ago. I did so as an experiment to see how hard it would be for a new user to get noticed on steemit, so I didn't let anyone now that I was doing it. You can click here to a post that has links to the entire 50 days of this devotional if you really want to read ahead. That information has always been available there since I first posted it. It is not the purpose of this series to just copy all of my previous work, but instead to transform it into some new outlets by releasing it in an audio and video format, to broaden the reach that this work has.

Again, though I will certainly never claim to know it all, I do believe that many are being lead astray by some popular beliefs. I hope that this project will be able to help many others understand the end-times more accurately. Thanks!

Fantastic content! Life is a journey of discovery...

Keeping an open mind as we read is so important as the Word is for "reproof and correction" and I certainly am not above being corrected.

There is an old saying The more you know, the more you know you don't know. of which I am a believer.

We are definitely in for some trying times and your series is very timely for me personally. Thanks @papa-pepper

Another time the abomination of desolation is mentioned is in the book of 1 Maccabees in 1:54“On the fifteenth day of the month Kislev in the year 145”, which corresponds to 168/167 B.C., “they set up the abomination of desolation upon the altar” of the temple."

What made it an abomination was because the Temple and the holy things were defiled. Pagan altars, temples, and shrines were also setup in God's Temple and the sacrifice of pigs and other unclean animals took place inside the Temple and on the alter.

Nice post. Thanks for sharing.

This is good friend,
congratulate you on this day comrade.
good luck my friend @papa-pepper.

It may have been prudent for the author to first make the point of what defines the antichrist, and to delineate on the chronology that the seventy-weeks prophecy covers.

I'll cover a bit more about the Antichrist later on, but I wanted to bring out this specific point as part of the foundation to help people understand from early on that there is an obvious difference between God's actual end-time wrath as manifested in the Day of the Lord and the flawed common view of the seven year Tribulation Period.

wow it is wonderful religion video.i like it
happy chrismus day

Thanks for sharing, I learnt a lot, pls I need to know , is a woman allowed to preach the gospel.

All believers should share the gospel with a lost and dying world.

But some churches don't. Thanks a lot.
