His Hands
Callused hands
grimy and ugly
abraded knuckles
broken and brittle nails
like old shoes
worn out and torn
Frail hands
trembling and unsteady
from a day of work
like a clock
no rest, no stop
Your hands
a work of wonder
of scars and marks
the most hideous,
the most beautiful.
People vary in perspective. There are times when we perceive something as beautiful while on the other hand, others don’t. Just like calloused hands, I see them as works of wonder because they signify the hard work and effort one has poured out. Others may seem to hate it and look at it as ugly and hideous but they are a display of the sacrifices someone has endured.
This reminds me of Blot Drawing. Wherein an artist uses the stains and blots to create masterpieces. It is wonderful thing how when others see the stains and blots as invaluable, other artists think of them as parts of a piece.
Beauty I believe is subjective. There are no such things as boxes to be ticked to consider someone or something as beautiful. Blot on a page after writing, unfixed hair, raveled strings, these are just some of the things I find beautiful that others don’t. We all have our differences that include our preferences. There is so much beauty in the world around us, some of which we just fail to appreciate. What about you? What are the things you find beautiful that others don’t?

These lines, loved how you managed to explain it. Agree that people sometimes fail to appreciate the beauty that he/she has seen ( in general.) We do feel that way , every time maybe? even in ourselves. you are right we do have our own differences but every thing has its beauty actually. we just need to appreciate it in another way. :) our own perspectives
