Pains - a new teaser from my upcoming book

in #poetry5 years ago (edited)

Pain is something that we all can relate to, as no one has ever passed through life without being touched by it in a way or another. We deal with our problem on our terms and try to make the best of it.

Some of us are lucky enough to have found our tribe and benefit of its support and love, while others struggle on their own, hoping that one day their suffering will end and they will be pain free.

Not many would care to think deeper and try to understand why often those who are sick prefer to isolate themselves. Most of the times their reasons are misunderstood which causes a bigger gap between them and their loved ones.

As they look from far at their friends' feed and scroll among hundreds of posts, all with happy faces, loneliness settles in. They wonder if their realize how lucky they are to be healthy and have a whole life ahead of them. We all take things for granted and forget to be grateful for what we have.

Some pains
you keep with you
deep down within
as not all can be
said or shared
with family or friends;
you carry them beyond
the grave and hope
you weren't such a burden.

What a wonderful teaser for your book
your line about appreciated how lucky they are to be healthy, resonated with me and from reading your and some others posts on here and through friends and family battling various illnesses, I do know How lucky i am, but sadly so many others do not

Thank you! Hope you are feeling better today! It's moments like these we become more aware of how blessed we are.

Indeed we are blessed and this is a minor problem compared with what many happy to deal with, I will heal quickly and am blessed to only have this to deal with :)

This book really rise my interest even though I'm sure it has some dark memories behind :)

Would you be interested in reading a beta copy? Not right now, cause I am still working on it, but in a month or two?

Sure! I would be more than happy to do so. But do you have a digital copy of it? Or how are we going to make it?

I will send you an e-copy through discord once I will be done :0)

Wow, awesome! Thank you so much dear <3 Can't wait for it!!!

Sad ... but so true!

There are so many people depressed about their lives ... and don't even stop to think that they could have had it much worse.

If you have health, if you have all your body parts still intact...
... if you have a roof over your head, food on the table is not a problem...
... if you don't live under a war zone like the Syrians, nor under an apartheid Regime like the Palestinians, nor under a civil war like the Ukrainians, nor under a financial meltdown like the Venezuelans...

It's time to stop being depressed and consider yourself lucky.

Thanks for your post, @lymepoet!

You're welcome! Best way to prevent depression is to cultivate gratitude by starting the day with a quick meditation and think of what we need to be grateful for.

Yeah, I guess most are caught up with their own pain, that there doesn't seem room to think of someone else's pain...
There must be something in the air.. my song choice today also relates to Pain ...

Usually this is the script, just like you mentioned above. Though sometimes we see others who are worse than us being capable of more compassion. That is a waking-up moment!

That is so true
And I have seen and experienced it first hand.
It is inspiring to say the least <3

Very well said. It is a shame that many have become so disconnected to each other that we cannot share pain. That last line and hope
you weren't such a burden.
really hit the mark. We are afraid to be a burden of others to share our pain and sorrow and think we can only share happiness (as all the happy pictures in social media), but by sharing only good times, we create a gap and forget that when we share pain and support each other - that is when we really grow

Pain can actually create a much stronger bond among people than happiness would ever do! Growing does involve some sort of pain, not neccessarly a physical one, though.

I don't read enough of what you do here. When I do I am always impressed and touched. Your words are always a good reminder of things I should care more about.

Glad to see you here. Thank you for your kind words! Have a wonderful day!
