Colouring Outside the Lines - Rock Your World #22

I cannot really remember the last time I picked up wax crayons to draw a picture (for myself) – the closest I have gotten to that in a long while is colouring in with my son. Can you recall being told to “colour within the lines”? – I can. It never really appealed to me to be honest. Restrictions are nobody’s friend (truth be told). All they do is put our spirits in boxes.

I often watch my little boy colouring in and trying so hard to “do what he has been told” but eventually and inevitably, his raw enthusiasm for holding an unleashed crayon in his hand, gets the better of him and… squiggle squiggle squiggle

I refuse to limit him – as much as I have always refused to limit myself.

If you have a passion to express more than you see those around you doing, then so be it. You are you, for a VERY good reason, just roll with it!!

Go ahead and colour outside those lines it will be fun. I promise!

You know that “alternative route” people have been telling you to take to work? Take it. You will experience something new and from that, you will have a new story to tell.

“Do one thing everyday that scares you.” - enjoy the rush and grow from there! (yes, yes, I know I use that quote often... but it really warrants more attention that it ever gets... lol)

“Everything seems impossible until it’s done.” - how many times have you doubted yourself and then eventually achieved precisely what you thought you could not. Just DO IT!

“Oh boy, are you ever going to laugh when you find out how perfect you were all along.” - Stop putting yourself down! Take that course…just do it! You will either discover that there really was that hidden master in you, or you will have a good laugh at it, meet some new people and move on.

“The universe is so well balanced, that the mere fact that you have a problem, serves as a sign that there is a solution.” – Appreciate your trials when you step outside of your comfort zone. They are growing you as a person and one day you will look back and be ever grateful for the things they taught you.

“I dwell in possibility.” - your entire life is a blessing. Learn this one thing (if nothing else). Acknowledge it, and then look forward from the finish line, always!

“If you are the smartest person in the room, then you are in the wrong room.” - If not to learn, then what purpose does our existence serve? When things in life become stagnant, consider that the ‘colouring line’ and move out of it! You will not regret it.

“Don’t always agree with me, enlighten me.” - Stop being so defensive when people in your life are honest with you. Their words might be harsh, but the brutal honesty will do you good in the long run. Absorb it. Learn from it. Move forward. It will teach you…about yourself, about life and about others.
