Node.js project details:

In short: Node.js® is a JavaScript runtime built on Chrome's V8 JavaScript engine.
As an asynchronous event driven JavaScript runtime, Node is designed to build scalable network applications.

The translation

At the moment, the translation is at 2%. Which means I am ahead of my goal of making the 2% before Christmas. However, I doubt that I will translate much after the coming week, so I can't promise to have 3% done by New Year's. That deadline will have to be set for February I think.

I tried to finish the Buffer chapter, which would have brought my total words to translate to about 1600 for today, but my brain got scrambled, so I had to stop just 300 words short of finishing it.
In total I translated 1317 words, but there were a lot of duplicates, so I keep the number around 1100 words.

There was nothing noteworthy about this part of the translation, everything was very familiar.
However, one thing had me scratch my head a little and I was wondering if this is a joke made by a funny developer, or if this is a real 'thing'? So if any developers are reading this: please enlighten me, I am intrigued: buf.writeDoubleBE(0xdeadbeefcafebabe, 0); Sooooo...what's up with the '0xdeadbeefcafebabe'? (@abh12345: you're a smart man, you can tell me what this means right?)
I know the first bit is a zero rather than an O, so it doesn't say 'Ox', or does it?
And what's with the 'dead beef cafe babes'? Is that some sort of cryptic message from one developer to another about which cafe they are supposed to meet at where that babe works? Hmmm, I could have sleepless nights over this, so HELP!

What comes next?

Like I said before: I am almost finished with the Buffer chapter. And if I'm very honest, I'm quite happy about that. It was a loooooong chapter and I've really had it with those buffers. I'm ready for something new. At this point I am at 96% with this. Another 300 words and it's finished. After this, I am going to work on the 'Child process' chapter thingy, which has 6800 words, so that should keep me busy for the next couple of weeks. I feel a lot of children and parents coming my way. Good thing it's not in real life, I have enough children as it is, thank you very much.

Hey @misslasvegas, thank you for your contribution to the translation project for Davinci-Utopian!

Thank you for yet another contribution to the Node.js project! With this contribution you not only completed the Buffer file, but you also managed to hit the 2% mark! In reality, version 10 has already been completed 4%! Good job! There was only one small mistake, good work.

This has been your 19th contribution (both to Node.js and in total), bringing your total translated words to 20942. (However, because of how the Node.js project is made, there are some duplicated strings and the project actually shows a total of 21348 words translated.) You have currently translated 2.04%! Congrats, you got the 2%!!!

Good job!

Thank you for your review, @minersean! Keep up the good work!

No idea!

Googled it to find https://github.com/nodejs/node/issues/22158

Looks like a potential exploit, but I am not sure, sorry!

Ah thanks for the reply! And the effort :) I'll just keep my theory...that it's some kind of extra special coded message that only the 'in-crowd' knows about...I like a good conspiracy sometimes. 😉
