Enrollment
If you want to get involved, or to increase the share of basic income that you receive, enrollment is pretty straightforward:
Just send 1 STEEM to @steembasicincome. Include the name of a Steemian to sponsor in the transaction memo (preceded by @). You and the person you sponsor will each receive 1 share in the program. You can sponsor any active Steemian, it does not have to be a current member.

The official currency for enrollment is STEEM. We are not currently accept SBD for enrollments. The current delay on enrollment processing is 3-4 days.

I signed up for the @steembasicincome yesterday :) I hope all works well as I haven't received a confirmation message. Yet very excited to take part in this projecT! :)
It can take a few days to get enrolled but it is worth your time. If you post ever day it is reccommend that you have around 7 shares. As the voting persentages are based on 7 days you will see best results if you had the same amount of shares as your posting frequency in one week. So if you post twice a day then 14 shares would be reccommend as you will see a good persentge upvote.
Personally I am trying to build up my shares as fast as possible. With these low prices on steem it would be stupid not to.
@andrewharland. Okay so the voting power is not distributed per day, but distributed per user per month, so if I have 20 posts in a month, I would get lower up votes per post then when I have 10 posts per month?
The votes are distributed based on a weekly posting frequency. So if you post 10 times a week your weekly voting persentage would be divided by 10.
This will change when they go automatic as it will be a lot more real time. So as time passes the voting persentage will go up until a post is voted for. Then it will drop before creeping back up again. So if someone decided to post 20 times in a day it wouldnt drain the voting power for everyone else.

btw @f3nix do you have any idea how much an up vote from @steembasicincom is worth on average, like per share?
With the sbi it's about when you break-even the investment. You should obtain that avg. in one year, but it depends by the market steem evaluation. After the break-even point it's all a gain. I don't mind since I'm here for the long run and the upvote is permanent.
Yeah I'm here for the long run myself as well :) So I invested 5 STEEM so you think that will take an average of 1 year to be deposited back hmmm :) okay let's see what happens.
btw do you know if you can simply add-on more share by sending more STEEM or do you have to request that?
Ok Mark, here's some data taken from my account that should help in calculating the ROI: I own 94 shares, post 4 times a week, last vote from @steembasicincome pool equal to $ 1.07 (avg. 1.06 usd), voted at 27% (rounded). You can send all the steem you want and your stake will increase but always remember to include a name (@nameofthesteemianyouwanttosponsorhere) in the memo of the transfer 😉
@f3nix Ah thanks for helping me out I'm such a noob with this because it is the first subscription service I have ever used haha! And the name of the person you want to sponsor is not your own name right? It has to be another user?
Yes Mark, it has to be another user. When you transfer 1 STEEM you will be automatically given 1share + 1 will go to your sponsored name.. you put already five shares without the name or with your own one? You can send a message to the board or to @josephsavage to fix it (or in the discord chat). I'm almost sure that you can ask to put those sponsored names even after the transfer.. in case you need a name to sponsor I know one.. it starts with an f and finishes with 3nix 😁
Thanks! Yeah the bots are getting so many bids that they almost all result in a negative nowadays. I don't like that. Also, I post quite often and planning to post every day so that should be worth my while :)
As you know I try and increse my shares daily and I also exceed that on some occations. I work with rogz06 to build up our shares but I want to help out some of the community a bit more than I have.
I was thinking that any shares I purchase over 1 per day, if I put contest in the memo box could you assign this to a contest you like. Even if it doesnt go to the winner of the contest but maybe someone you feel has been trying but hasnt been successful yet?
Not sure if you would have the time for this but even if you use only one contest and they tell you who was close but not quite there.
This is a good idea (and I actually sponsor some contests myself), but I don't keep track of who is entering and what their win rates are (except I do notice if certain names get a string of sponsorship from a bunch of different people that do contests). However, I would be happy to put you in touch with members that could use a little more sponsorship for their contests. Or if you're interested, I can coordinate with you and some of the Language Mods in our new discord to put together contests that grow their communites (#ph, #vn, etc.)

I dont have time to put together a contest and maintain it. With 3 kids a wife and a buisness to run things get busy quickly. However I like the idea of steem being a massive change to someones financial future.
Being able to feed a family from sbi is a worthwhile thing to do.
I mainly want to give those that cant afford to just buy shares so they try in these contests but maybe dont get to the top.
We all love an underdog.

The contest ends at 11:59pm on Saturday. The winner post is 12:01am on Wednesday.
Week 10 will start at 12:01am on Tuesday. Idea is 5 days for the contest, 2 days for the judges to see any entries they have missed and get me their winners. Then I write the winner post Tuesday night.
We had been running the contest for 7 straight days with no downtime and any last minute entries weren't getting any views. Plus we never had time to let our voting power restore.
Not sure if this is permitted but I am running a contest with an SBI reward as well. All you have to do is find the song and artist hidden in an image.

1 steem is 1 share. You can also nomonate another account and they will also get 1 share. If you do not nominate an account they will randomly select an account to give that extra share to.
You can have 100 shares in each pool (currently 7 pools) and if you upvote steembasicincome once a day you will get a 100% bonus. So if you had 10 share they will give you 20 shares for upvoting then once a day. They calculate this bonus on a 28 day rolling cycle. So if you only vote 14 times in 28 days you get 50% bonus.
