Grandchild - Day 28
My 9th grandchild was born yesterday. I’ve been watching his big sister and enjoying every moment. Just thinking about all my grandkids makes me teary with joy nd inspired this poem. The pictures are all mine.
The child of my child
Once removed yet somehow
Closer than possible
Unexplainable connection
The essence of eternity
Your construct holds a part of me
Your being holds the heart of me
I’ve got this
This time around
No pressing burden
I’ve conquered most self-battles
And have so much more to offer
Your construct holds a part of me
Your being holds the heart of me
Time is my friend now
A chance to bring you joy
Implant a precious memory
Infuse a piece of my peace
To help you face the world

I wish to live lomg enough to see my grand children too.

What piece of your beautiful sky you have shared with us today, friend @firststeps. It moves me that piece of your truth brought to this world of poetry. Good job!
Wow!
Beautiful kids and lovely and happy grandchildren you've got.
I love the rhythm of your poem, well structured! I hope we win together in this contest. You can slip through mine when you are less busy, though mine is not as good as yours, am still learning how to fit in (winks)
Congratulations on your new arrival!
