Charming Knights - Day 23

This poem started out with a message that most “Sayings” are not true but I saw a different message develop as I went and change a few words and rearranged it. It was a lot of fun.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder
Sometimes though it makes you ponder
Is he really my knight in shining armor
Or have I been duped by a sneaky charmer

A leopard can not change its spots
His words are twisting me in knots
‘We all deserve a second chance
Life’s not a sprint, so slow your dance”

“You made your bed now lie in it”
But I say just wait a minute
So many things that we can’t control
Sometimes it’s hard to make things whole

So all is fair in love and war
That’s why she’s knocking at your door
I think that I’ll be leaving you
I guess you didn’t think it through
