HAVE YOU HEARD OF OUR LATEST COMMUNITY CHANGING EVENT?
OPERATION SAVE A NEWBIE COMMUNITY CO-OP CONTEST
Ladies and gentlemen thank you for taking the time to read this post first and foremost. I am Lucky, the leader and one of the Founding Fathers of the Steemit Greeters Guild. I am here to tell everyone about an amazing new contest event that is sweeping through the Steemit platform like a Cali wildfire, Operation Save A Newbie. Of course, it sounds like a military mission, that's because we wanted to implement a sense of urgency directly in the name. After all, this contest not only provides for the lower ranks of the platform, but does the entirety of the platform a great deed in the process by combating a known enemy of Steemit, the Steemit account inactivity crisis. As a community co-op, meaning we allied with several other groups and individuals, we came together under one flag to fight for the same cause and work together to help the platform grow in a positive way!
So, we all geared up to go to war for the Steemit platform. When I say war, I mean it in the kindest and most compassionate way possible of course. Basically, we gathered together with a great many other like minded members of the community from all reaches, collected an awesome prize pool compliments of our very generous sponsors, began to dig in deep in the trenches by going out and doing what greeters do best and hosted the first official contest event flying under the SGG flag. After one day, we have seen a tremendous amount of growth and participation from all angles, already making this event a huge success for everyone involved, namely the upcoming Steeians who struggle to get exposure, as well as rewards. In this post, I'm going to give a brief run down on what this contest is about and relay some important information and updates regarding it. So, let's get going, shall we?
SO LET'S LEARN ABOUT OPERATION SAVE A NEWBIE REALLY QUICK
Operation Save A Newbie is a group effort (co-op) community based contest event that is dedicated to locating new Steemit users with talent and potential to grow, giving them a place to showcase their work and help them receive many valuable rewards, ranging from monetart rewards to shares in Steem Basic Income. The rewards are beyond monetary gain as well, for these new Steemians are given priceless opportunities to network and gain exposure they normally would not receive otherwise. Being this contest event last a grand total of seven days and was designed with the best interests of a newbie in mind, they are able to showcase up to seven different articles of theirs, posting a new one each day. That is just the main event as well. The also have the opportunity to join @greetersguild for numerous chances to learn, earn and grow within the guild and our allied groups that we work closely with. Even better, these new Steemians are able to learn from @greetersguild how to go oit and greet, giving them the opportunity to participate in two other valuable portions of the contest that will maximize their rewards!
By entering the contest in the main event, these new users are able to display their work while gaining various rewards from upvotes, prizes, bonuses and more. But what about the second and third events or "side quests" of the contest event? Well, someone can enter and go out as what is called a "relief greeter", or someone who participates as a greeter for this event only (of course they can stay on board if they would like). Once they enlist, they can go out into the platform, welcoming new Steemians to the platform and providing support, knowledge and compassion, just like one of our greeters did for them. During the greeting, the new Steemians are invited to join SGG to learn, earn and grow and they are invited to join in on the contest event to benefit from it. The greeters who bring them in are given SBD rewards. We also host two curation trails that support SGG members and upcoming Steemians with upvotes on their work. these two "curie trails" are able to be joined by anyone honestly, but any greeter who brings a new registered member of the curie trails, is paid and rewarded for that as well. So there it is, several ways to earn some fine rewards!
WHAT REWARDS ARE AVAILABLE AND HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT US?
There are honestly a plethora of rewards available for folks who participate in the contest, and not just for those who are under a rep score of 45 who can enter their links for the main event. Being our prize pool hit a large number, we have a ton of shares to Steem Basic Income to distribute to deserving members of the community. This includes our current SGG members who work day in and day out to welcome new users to Steemit, this includes those who work tirelessly to provide moral support to people engaged in this contest. This includes anyone doing something positive within the confines of this amazing event, just to be honest. Of course, the bulk is going out to the contestants, but there are so many people dedicating to this, we cannot sit back and ignore it. We also have a chunk of SBD and Steem from private sponsors such as @breakthecycle and @greetersguild, as well as individuals, who want to see the second and third events be done as well as see members of SGG be rewarded for their many great accomplishments within the community. Last but not least, I am expecting some bounties to be placed on the contest post itself which really boosts curation rewards!
If you are interested in supporting this event, you can do many things to step up. One, you can always sponsor a prize, which we are not specific on what you want to give. We would literally take altcoins if you wanted to offer them as a prize for someone in this event. You can also offer monetary support to any of the folks making sure the magic happens. It's all in the realm of what you feel you may want to do. Two, you can donate your time by joining in with @greeterguild and going out to welcome new members. If you are unsure what a greeter does or what SGG is, please click HERE. You can help us by bringing us new contestants, new members to the greeters guild and new allies who can come to support not just the contestants but the overseers morally. Third, you can upvote the comments on the contest post, the post itself and go to the links of the contestants and show support on their posts by upvoting/resteeming. One upvote goes a long way, especially in great numbers! Remember, the contestants NEED your upvotes to possibly win the headlining prizes. Last but not least, the absolute best thing any and all of you can do is resteem the contest post, share the link with people you know and share it across discord. The more upcoming Steemians who know about it, the better it is for the community at large!

@mirrors the rep cap is only for the main event. You can still participate in the second and third event of the contest at any time ;) Also, if you would like to, you can find upcoming users to join the main event and coach them. The more we accomplish as a group, the better off the smaller members of the Steemit community are :)

Thank-you. I've sent lists to @davemccoy before, but I'm not really up on who does what all the time. I go into my followers tab sometimes and when I open one I find they haven't been on steemit for weeks. So I open new ones there and then spend some time chasing the feed at created. You can spend a lot of time chasing up some waste of effort, photos with caption only and no description of what photo is of - lovely landscape ~ but dude, I've thousands of square miles of lovely landscape just out my back door, if you don't say what it is of, it's not much becoming diminished to fantasy or child's imagination collage, in other words, is it really real or Photoshop? 😆 sort of thing.

I am falling asleep. I will finish reading all this in morning early. Too much info when am tired. I would like to do more. Newbies I find(and like) are resteemed on my line. You might want to give them a Hallo. I'm only plankton 😀 so unfortunately no $ for prizes, but when I've time I scroll through created, or my tags. Posted today a How-to post on dsound, if any of you would like to tell me if/how I got it. From memory because I lost my notes.
