Session 18 - 9th July
Today a path that I had already faced a couple of weeks ago. 30 km, mostly on asphalt. Just to change even today's bizarre weather conditions, in this crazy atmospheric summer. When I left it was so hot but after a couple of kilometers, suddenly, the sky was clouded. It looked like it was going to rain, it was windy, almost cold. The idea of nullifying the training was becoming more pressing until a ray of sunshine failed to penetrate the clouds again. I also saw the plateau, higher up, in the hills still to be reached, where the sun seemed to be coming with all its strength.
So I decided to continue and rely on luck: being in the rain, by bike, 15 kilometers away from home would not be the best. It went well, just beyond the clouds disappeared, faster than they had arrived. The wind has dropped, that "almost cold" has left space again to the usual 35 °C. And all is well that ends well.

Oggi un percorso che già un paio di settimane fa avevo affrontato. 30 chilometri, in gran parte sull'asfalto. Tanto per cambiare anche quest'oggi condizioni climatiche bizzarre, in questa pazza estate atmosferica. Quando sono uscito c'era tanto caldo ma dopo un paio di chilometri, all'improvviso, il cielo si è rannuvolato. Sembrava stesse andando a piovere, c'era vento, quasi freddo. L'idea di abortire l'allenamento si stava facendo sempre più pressante fino a quando un raggio di sole non è riuscito nuovamente a penetrare la cappa di nuvole. Vedevo inoltre l'altopiano, più in alto, nelle colline ancora da raggiungere, dove il sole sembrava stesse arrivando con tutta la sua forza.
Ho deciso quindi di continuare e di affidarmi alla fortuna: trovarsi sotto la pioggia, in bici, a 15 chilometri di distanza da casa non sarebbe proprio il massimo. E' andata bene, poco più in là le nuvole sono sparite, più veloci di come erano arrivate. Il vento si è abbassato, quel "quasi freddo" ha lasciato spazio nuovamente ai soliti 35° C. E tutto è bene ciò che finisce bene.
