I don't whale hunt on steemit as there is not much point. The people at a certain level have their own circles and for the most part aren't bothered by minnows or their comments. Like anybody else, i am drawn to the larger accounts. Not only because the potential for large votes but because of the knowledge that they have.
There is normally a reason that somebody has made it to whale/orca level. Whether is was just good timing or through good activity they have the knowledge of how to grow and improve. I've gotten a few whale votes from @new-hope but i think it was luck more than anything else. I'm not sure how or why as there was no comments but obviously noticed as a minnow when my $2 dollar posts jumped by $30.
I would love to make it up there myself someday and maybe it will happen through hard work and persistance, but a few whale votes never hurts.

@dynamicrypto, Literally speaking my journey is mixed with dynamic roller-coaster, and i always try to find out Active Steemians who hold the high stake because, this is an Business Social Networking Platform we should gain more returns for our time, effort and energy so we have to put efforts in the posts of high stake profiles.
And initially I've faced low engagement but never stopped and step by step learned about this Sphere, and while understanding about this Sphere i understood that whales and orca's are more influential, so for sure I've started the journey from the Trending posts and started commenting and i will agree that initially i was Spamming my comments, but once I've got an response as Provide value with your comments and not spam it, otherwise leave Steemit. But, i took those words in positive way and became more professional, and if i would not received that response, then today i would not reach where i am today, and today i am standing on the 2nd position in the list of organic commenter in whole Steem Blockchain for 2018, and this list was shared by @abh12345.
And after some research I've also got familiar with the Steemwhales site, and I've put lot of efforts to analyse the Active Steemians who hold high stake in this way it helped me to reach more active accounts who have high stake. And in my opinion these kind of tools can enhance our performance because when we hold the right tools then we can change our productive techniques and analysis time to time.
And i want to say that, I've received the whale vote, but before that i want to tell the story behind it, actually I've joined one Discord Channel as STEEMSPEAK and had one hour conversation with the @fyrstikken, but initially i didn't know he is an Whale, Witness and Bot owner because he was so friendly in conversation so i didn't had any clue about these, but after that while appreciating my video content he gave 100% Whale Vote and for sure that was an great encourage and i can say that by giving @booster upvote as an encouragement on my content was an kind gesture by the @fyrstikken.
So this is my Whale hunt story and i think many will have their own diversified stories because initially we all had the SUPER UPVOTE RUSH. ha ha 🙂
