Tree Tuesday - A Challenge by @old-guy-photos
Imagine that you are driving through the desert. Cactus and empty hills pretty much everywhere. Just like this.
You are on your way to Vegas and it is time to stop to stretch your legs. As you turn off the road, there is a big hotel on your right and a convenience store with a huge empty parking lot with some trees on the left.
Since you have the compulsion to take pictures of trees so you can take part in @old-guy-photos Tree Tuesday challenge - of course, you go to the left.
Just wanted to throw a black and white one in here since I missed monochrome Monday yesterday :)
Lots of cones on that tree!! Some food for the wildlife. I am sure they appreciate it!!
Now, you see why we have a little green belt right there!! Water makes all the difference!
Thanks to the irrigation, a row of bushes and trees were surrounding the parking lot. But, make sure you heed this warning!!!
The only problem is that the animals who are most likely to want this water can't read!!!

It looks like you stopped in Jean. There used to be a casino southbound on the I-15 going to Los Angeles shaped like a huge paddle wheel. The owners, MGM I think, tore it down because travelers already lost all their money in Las Vegas and drove past it on their way home. The casino on the northbound side remains because it offers an early start to the (potential) winnings.
Ha. good info. and it makes sense. When you leave Vegas - most people are broke. this was the off ramp to the prison... forgot the name. Just that it seems an awful place to be incarcerated...
There is an old women's prison at Jean. They closed it, then reopened it, and I think it's closed again. You were parked in the old parking lot for the paddle-wheel casino.
Oh, that is why it was so big :)
