Heya, @martibis here with another edition of #traveldigest. It is likely we will go on a one or two week hiatus starting on Monday. During this time, I might put more time and effort in looking for sponsors for Steemitworldmap, spend more time on development and, well, take a bit of a breather as well. Cheers!

@snaptravel takes us to Phuket in Thailand. After arriving he hears the vegetarian festival is ongoing and the final parade is that very night. Tired from the journey and not quite sure what to expect @snaptravel isn't very enthusiastic about it. After being abruptly woken by firecrackers, @snaptravel sets out to find some food, but instead ends up in the middle of a rowdy crowd, who are waiting for the parade! The parade not being anything like expected, with hundreds of firecrackers, and smoke filling the streets. Talking about a way to celebrate vegetarianism, right?

@daveonarrival takes us to Pho Hon Kham in Laos. After stumbling upon a small sign saying 'viewpoint', pointing to a less traveled route, @daveonarrival sets out to explore. Driving his bike through the dirt, grave and mud track, they eventually find the hiking trail for the last leg to the viewpoint. From the start of the hiking trail it takes around 30 to 45 minutes of scrambling upwards on flipflops to make it to the top. The view and desolation of the place making it well worth the climb!

#3 Climbing an AWESOME Volcano in the Philippines

@jamiz takes us to Mount Kanlaon in the Philippines. Mt. Kanlaon is an active volcano at 2.456 m above sea level, in one of the most beautiful national parks in the Philippines. @jamiz and his group meet up with their two guides and around 10 AM the ascent can begin. After the first day they arrive at Makawiwili Peak, but there is storm coming, and so there isn't much to do except for taking shelter in the tents. With the morning, the storm dies down, and a beautiful sunrise shows itself. With the summit still covered in fog and too dangerous to approach, they decide to spend another day near a lake campsite. On the third day,they are finally able to make it to the summit and enjoy the spectacular view of the crater and the surroundings! After the extensive hike, it is time to head to Canlaon City to have some drinks and enjoy a good time looking back at the adventure!
