Introduction
Welcome to the Travel Digest #139 edition of #traveldigest! Enjoy!
As always all posts featured here will be put on our Editors Choice Map.
Hello everyone, it's @livinguktaiwan here writing today's #TravelDigest from London. I've been back to UK for over 3 weeks already, seems like such a long time, but it's been really great catching up with family and friends. Sadly, I will be going back to Taiwan on Monday 😟.
Anyway, enough of me, let's take a look at our featured posts today.
Traveldigest
The first featured posts brings back great memories for me personally, and that is Petra in Jordan by @schmidthappens. His journey starts from a border town in Israel and from there he walks a quarter of a mile into no man's land into Jordan. That, is an experience in itself. June probably isn't the best time to visit Petra, but that didn't stop @schmidthappens to explore all the magnificent structures. His favourite is The Siq, the mile long walk through a narrow gorge of beautiful rock, and at the end of the walk is The Treasury, Indiana Jones fans will be familiar with this. Unfortunately he didn't have enough time to visit a lot of the other structures, so I totally agree that he needs another trip back and share the rest of amazing Petra with us.

#2 Travel Blog: Morocco - Marrakech
Continuing with the middle east theme, @minatubo takes us to Marrakech in Morocco. During his four day trip he stays in a Riad, a large traditional house built around a central courtyard and eats lamb tajine whilst listening to Moroccan music. Also check out his tips on how not to get lost in Marrakech, how to bargain for souvenirs and other places you should visit.

#3 Exploring and Observation Biodiversity Kerinci Seblat National Park (TNKS) Mount Kerinci
The last featured post today is from @bonesumpal who takes on an amazing hike up to Mount Kerinci in Indonesia. Mount Kernci is 12,484 feet high, the highest on the island of Sumatra. Due to bad weather, he had to break up his ascend into chunks over the days, and on one day he even had to stay at the camp site all day because the rain and storm. Bad weather is just one big obstacle, the other being the path itself is quite dangerous. Patience and perseverence pays off and by day 5, 7pm he gets to the top of the peak. He is greeted by the sunset and full moon, and spends some time up there feeling really please with himself until he has to start the descend. It surely sounds like an incredible experience. Well done!
