Who are we?
We are a group of steemians who have access to mutual support and advice on Facebook. We number c.100, all steemit subscribers. There is a core of about 20 who are daily posters /commenters /supporters of each other.
The group was started by @samstonehill in October 2016 and has morphed organically and quite naturally into what it is today; very cool and inclusive.
We have extraordinary talent and we want to show that off. Every Friday around 4pm New York time we will produce a Showcase ‘Treasures from the Ocean’, giving you our best posts to read, watch, see, hear and mull over during your weekend. These are selected by our members from our members’ content.
We are open to new members and the condition to join is that you are a steemian and you strive to be the best content creator that you can be. We do not count anything else unless someone reaches a milestone and they share, then we get really excited!

Well, I requested to join the FB group. Ironically, my FB time has gone down by about 60% since finding Steemit!
Great - I shall go and have a look right now. Say hi when you are in and I shall announce your arrival to the group. As it is a Friday afternoon, I am not sure as to the number on air but there will be a few.

Thank you - as you can see, the formatting was a challenge. I have to devise a drag and drop system of my own or I will go potty doing that every week!
Getting remarks like yours makes it all worthwhile - there is room for improvement but it has the capacity to become a fixture.

You have to start somewhere. I thought it looked okay and it was easily accessible. I think on the formatting you could possible just have the main boxes of categories present then when you clicked on them they open up to the links. I know there is a way to add links to pictures where if you click on the picture it opens the link to another page. This should be relatively easy to do as it can be done in PowerPoint. I would be more than happy to help you.

Thank you my friend - it is a start, anyway. The thing with an initiative like this is to keep making noise about it. It may take a little time but people will start creating habits around it. You, as a marketing man, know the value in habits! It takes six weeks to create a habit.
I am trying to come up with ways to trigger and maintain that habit.
One mechanic I have thought of is to introduce a sort of 'Where's Wally?' type of thing. Every week we hide a steemit logo somewhere in the showcase. It may be in the art video or another section - even edited into a post.
The first one to find it - or all 5 if we put in 5 - to be decided, or varied - wins. It could be themed as well. At Easter there are 10 eggs, Champions League, 5 footballs - and so it goes. This will create a buzz around the thing.
It needs to be more than just posts - like a magazine with different sections. Word puzzles, spot the difference, etc. This will stand it out.
Anyway, have a beer for me! Dry weekend here with elections tomorrow!

As I just said to Uwe, it is a start and we nee to be progressive and build upon it by creating regular habits for the punters out there. I have just outlined one idea to him which you can see if you look at the full context thread.
I believe we could really create something with 'legs'!
