Steemit/Dtube Community, I Need Your Feedback!

I Need Your Feedback, Please! :)

For those of you who read and commented on my article from yesterday about how some Steem apps are taking your rewards, I thank you for all of the awesome feedback that got. It's nice to hear the opinions of others so I don't have to rely solely on the thoughts in my own head.

After writing yesterday's post and going through all of your comments, it's really caused me to think even more about how I use the different applications on Steemit. Here are some of the scenarios that have run through my head (or things I have considered doing) in response to all of your feedback...

  1. Go about things as I always have and continue posting to these various platforms, which was my original plan.
  2. Boycott all apps who are taking rewards from people without giving notice that they're doing so.
  3. Continue using these apps while putting pressure on them to create Terms of Service agreements that include the reward beneficiary amounts that they're taking from users.

What Am I Really Wanting to Achieve?

Ultimately I don't want to end up in a battle with these platforms. Heck, I understand why they're using the beneficiary feature to monetize - they have bills to pay and they use that money for further development. I just think this could be done a lot classier. You know... by letting the end user know that some of their rewards are being taken when they use these applications. And it wouldn't be that hard to implement; it would literally take one line of HTML code. So this makes me wonder, why aren't they sharing this information more openly? Why hide it?

Here's What I Want To Know From You...

You probably thought I was going to ask which of these scenarios I should play out, lol. No I wouldn't put that kind of pressure on you. What I want to know is which application do you most often read/view/watch my content. Or better yet.. where do you find my videos? Please choose from one of the following below and let me know in the comments.

  1. Steemit
  2. Dtube
  3. Busy
  4. Other

This information will help me in deciding which application I should focus on regardless of how much earnings I am being paid out. At the end of the day the rewards are just a bonus. If I'm not focused on my following then nothing else really matters does it?

If you're interested in more videos, tutorials, and how-tos, I encourage you to follow my channel and leave me replies of things you would like to learn about. If I don't know the answer, we'll learn together! :)

Perfect. Thanks @josteem! That seems to be the general consensus.

Yep ! You also rock 😎😍

Keep calm and steem it :)

@josteem perhaps you should consider using the steemit logo rather than the STEEM logo.

Might be though steem is the original big mother 😅

👍🏼❤️

Nice gif for steemit

Thanks 🙏🏼 .. glad you like it :)

there are days that your dtube videos won't play for me. so, i cruise over to youtube to see if you have uploaded there. more than once, i've been able to watch on youtube while dtube sorts it self out....then i come back and comment and vote. so please keep uploading to youtube....because i was one of the people that waded out in the warm water of steemit because of your presence on youtube. thank you!!!!

That’s great to hear. I’m leaning more and more towards going back to YouTube altogether and embedding my videos here. Thanks for the feedback and continued support!

I Like The Boycott Idea As I Think It Will Push It To Happen. But I Really Think That Something Needs To Happen About It. They Should State That They Are Taking Profits Or By Definition They Are Stealing!

This is definitely an option I'm considering.

I spend half my time on Steemit and the other half on DTube so I find your new videos on whichever App I happen to be on at the time.

Perfect, so you wouldn’t be affected either way. Thanks for the feedback as always @movievigilante. Much appreciated!

My first point of contact is my feed on Steemit and most of the time I am sent to your video on dtube. If it is available on YT and I am at my office, I would watch it there. For sure, Steemit is really the first point though.

Thanks @newageinv, that’s the same for me. 99% of my time is on Steemit. Apppreciate you taking the time to let me know.

I pretty much us plain ol' Steemit or SteemitStage for 99.999999% of my surfing the block chain.

  • I don't usually take the time to watch videos.
    • I do read a lot of posts...

Thanks @wizardave, that’s pretty much how I use steem as well.

Steemit dude .

Go about things as I always have and continue posting to these various platforms, which was my original plan.

You can use youtube links instead .

Thanks @steemian007 for the feedback. I’m kind of feeling the same way.

I read and browse content in steemit. Your videos I open from steemit and it takes me to Dtube, if you have made the video on YouTube then it show's in the post. Thanks for fighting for our rights to be informed of everything. You are a great leader and example for us. Thanks to God that he created you.

Thanks @samaritanfriend, I appreciate your feedback and support.

I am usually on Steemit, because I prefer the Feed it has, DTube only shows me the last 4 videos from my feed on the starting page.
Since I've heard of the 25% before a few times, I only partially read the written post about this topic.

However I wanted to look up if I could find if DTube mentions these 25% somewhere, while I could not find anything about this, I did find the following in the FAQ: "The minimum possible reward is actually $0.02. If your video has less than that, then no payment will be triggered by the blockchain." So that is also a mechanic that exists.

I noticed that too. And I’m not sure if that’s a Steem thing or has to do with them taking 25%. May just be how the blockchain functions. But don’t you think that FAQ would be a great place to answer the question,” How does Dtube support the growth and costs of their platform?” Lol

I'm usually checking for new content on steemit. But I also like Busy because I can use the slider for my upvotes there.

Same here. I’m typically searching and scrolling on Steemit. Thanks @explorer79!
