SOS Daily News : all you need to know about the State of Steem @ 13 December 2018
Now we're talking...
Last night the first State of Steem Forum took place in MSP Waves.
I hosted the 4.5 hour forum with help from @teamhumble.
It was a record number of 'guests' on the forum including @aggroed, @anarcotech, @anomadsoul, @crypto.talk, @exyle, @fredrikaa, @hr1, @imacryptorick, @llfarms, @lukestokes, @nathanmars, @paulag, @project7, @shadowspub, @starkerz, @taskmaster4450, @themarkymark, @therealwolf and @yabapmatt.
It was also a record attendance for any 'shows' I have done on MSP Waves - peaking at over 125 steemians.
This was a fantastic demonstration of the 'potential energy' in the steem community. The challenge now is to turn that energy into activity.
More on that soon. In the meantime I will be posting the recording of this first SOS Forum in a few hours if you would like to listen.
Next week's forum on Thursday 20 December will be focusing on Technology - nodes, RocksDB, SMTs etc. If you would like to take part in that please message me on Discord (Pennsif#9921).
There was also very good attendance at @shadowspub's 10th monthly Witness Chat yesterday. Thirteen witnesses joined in. The recording has now been posted in case you would like to listen...
On Saturday @aggroed will be holding his monthly Witness Panel on MSP Waves. No details have been released yet of which witnesses will be attending but @aggroed usually fields a strong team.There has also been a little word from Steemit Inc - @exyle got a message from @andrarchy...

I actually woke up at 4am and started fiddling with my phone
Managed to catch bits and pieces as I sent my son for his swim training
The energy coming through was amazing...
I will be looking out for the recording for sure, I want to listen to the whole thing and read the comments coming through... 4.5 hours.... woahhhhh
Your thing about the value we are bringing to steemit as opposed to just looking to reap the rewards... that really clicked for me... will be looking out for the rest

Yesterday's addition of Steem onto the State of the Dapps site ties in with several of the points very nicely.
THIS. is what Steemit needs. Simply this - intelligent ideas and solutions, intelligent analysis instead of the sweeping condemnations and infantile barbs I've seen elsewhere. The intelligent ideas have, of course, been around, but this broadcast brought them together in a rational brainstorming session, and for me, there were so many lightbulb moments.
Things that stood out for me were the Partiko developer's discussion of micropayments, @fredrikaa's comment about it being easier to sell communities than crypto... there was so much more. I'll have another listen when the recording comes out.
