Techniques To Avoid Footprints & Protection Of Your PBN Network - SEO Tutorial Series - # 24

in #seo7 years ago

Welcome to the twenty-fourth episode of my SEO tutorial series. From the last few tutorials, we've been discussing the ways to find the high metrics domain. I've covered all the best methods, from Ahrefs to domain agencies which can really help you to find a great domain.

Usually, the domain with the DA of more than 60 is like the gold. Sure, I am assuming that its past image and link profiles are not spammy. If all other things are okay and the domain authority is 60 with the page authority of 50+, then be informed that this is a golden opportunity. If you're not sure about how to use such a domain, then the best way to profit is to sell it to someone. Such domains are even sold for $10,000, depending on the niche and the name of a domain.

Before you proceed to buy any domain, you need to make sure that it is either .com or .net or .org. That's because other extensions are not that powerful and even if you just want to sell those domains to others, there is not enough value for .info domains. And be very careful with .tv domains because they usually contact copyright trademark issues. Pay huge attention to the age of the domain.

So, I believe that we've discussed enough ways to find the great domain name. Now it's time to move towards how to avoid the major footprints. In this tutorial, I am going to explain some important points that will be useful for the protection of your PBN network.

Footprints

Use Domain Private Registration (Hide Whois):

You can't display the same name on your PBN sites because it won't only make a footprint, rather, this is obviously going to reveal that it's your own PBN network which you are using to rank your or others' sites.

But did I say that you can't use the same name? Nope, you just can't display it to the public (i.e Whois checkers). In order to hide your personal information from whois pages, you'd need whois protection or private registration. It will keep you safe from potential dangers. It might be costly if you have a large network but you'll have to manage the expense because, without whois protection, you're risking the de-indexation of your sites in Google search engine.

Avoid Footprints in Hosting:

After you've bought the domains for your network, the first thing you'd need is hosting. Now this subject is not that easy to handle. You'll need to use different hosting providers for each site/group of sites in order to make sure that it doesn't generate any kind of footprints for Google.

As I explained before, PBN is not a white-hat technique. It's a grey-hat and if Google discovers that you're using your own private network to build the link profiles of your money site, then it might be the risk of de-indexation and even blacklisting of your site for the lifetime. Unfortunately, Google doesn't give any kind of second chance to such users.

It doesn't mean that you should stop using the technique. The chances of such discovery from their side are very less if you practice all the techniques of avoiding footprints. And one of the techniques is to spread your sites to different hosting providers

Use different CMS:

It will be suspicious in the eyes of Google for sure if you're using WordPress across all your network sites. Google has a dedicated staff who looks for the suspicious sites and check all those sites that rank on their first page. The more visitors you're getting to your money site, the higher will be the concern of Google. In order to guarantee the best results for searchers, they work hard every day. (and well, you should never compromise the quality of your articles).

This footprint will make it obvious that one person owns all the domain names and they are being managed by that same person too. In order to ensure that your network stays safe, you need to use different CMS such as Joomla, Wix, Blogger, and Wordpress etc.

Use different templates:

Similar templates across all your network's sites will give another clear indication (i.e footprint) that the network is owned by one person. Therefore, you must use different designs for all your domains.

There are a lot of ready-made templates on the web and some of them are free to use. You can use those free templates but make sure that they are good enough. PBN network (i.e sites) with poor design will give them another footprint that you're trying to hide your PBN from them.

So, that's all for today. In my coming tutorials, I'll give some important guidelines about how to setup hosting and what should be done before buying the domains for your network. thanks for sharing ! this is really informative and helpful..i would just add a point that try to post articles or anything(be it spunned) from your pbn sites so google doesnt pick it up as pbn sites

Thanks for the compliment.

Yes, people post spun content on their PBN sites but I believe that it is not a right practice since it can lead to a strong footprint. It is very easy to detect which article is spun and which one is original. And imagine if all your PBN sites have spun content, it will be obvious for Google to think that you're using your PBN network for backlinks.

Hope it helps.
