Welcome to the seventeenth episode of my SEO tutorial series. In the last tutorial, I explained some of the basics of how blogs commenting works and why people are still trying to make use of blogs commenting method. To sum up, blogs commenting still works if you're keyword doesn't demand high link profiles to get you rank on the first page of your desired SE.

And well, strategies differ from engine to engine. I mean, if you're going to target Google, your strategy will be different and if you're targeting Yahoo, then expect the strategy to be completely different because the algorithms of major search engines are completely different except a few common factors.

In short, if you're targeting Yahoo, then blogs commenting can work like a charm and you'll see your content on the first page of Yahoo very quickly but it will happen only if you maintain the high-quality backlinks. But if you're targeting Google, then success ratio will be less as compared to other Search Engines because Google believes that link-profiles can be manipulated (and in fact, they are right).

Google pays too much attention to link profiles and for the same reason, Google introduced "PageRank" metrics to measure the quality of the page/site but that was in the past. If you're still playing with PageRank metrics, then you should be aware that it is not as useful as before and can be easily manipulated. Even though Google introduced the PageRank metrics in the past, they stopped to update the metrics of a new site for some reasons which shows that it is useless to focus on PR of the sites.

But enough of the history now. Blogs commenting is not as good as other methods which ensure the quality and natural links. Forum strategy is one of the great strategies. There's a myth on the internet which states that forum links are not useful but in fact, they don't want to reveal the truth to the public. Forum posting still works like a charm and you can use the strategy in the long run.

Forum Posting & Signatures and How They Work:

If your site is related to health niche, then you can use some external sites to search for your desired forum and register an account there. You might need to put initial efforts to get your forum account approval from their moderators. To be honest, this method is whitehat so if you're doing it in the right way, then it's just a one-time effort to start building quality links.

In order to create a quality backlink from forums posting:

You must choose the right forum. The niche of the forum must be related. If the forum gives do-follow attribute to the link, then it's a win-win situation. Otherwise, no-follow backlink still matters.
You must update your forum signature with the link of the page that you want to rank. (Before you do, make sure to read the forum rules because some forums doesn't allow to post links in signature)
You must search for the threads that have good DA and PA scores. The best way to find such threads is to Google your query in the following format: "Your broad keyword niche" "forum link without HTTP". Google will list all the pages that mention your broad keyword and that way, you'll get the links to those threads. The next step is to load those links in a reliable software and fetch their DA and PA scores.
Make a constructive post and enable "Show signature" option. You don't need to insert a separate link in your post. Instead, your forum signature link will suffice everywhere.
Rinse and repeat!

Note: Make sure that you don't use any blackhat strategy because doing so will result in the account ban and deletion of the post. Even if your account accidentally gets ignored, Google will most likely discover your links spam and kick you out of the 1st page.
