Poem no.68 : Masks/Maschere

We use them to hide
We use them for pride,
We use them every day
We use them to get away.

We use masks every day
Some use them to leave, others to stay,
You never know who's really in front of you
And when you'll find out, you'll hope it ain't true.

Always trying to hide our emotions
Only thinking about getting the promotions,
Sometimes we even forget who's behind that mask,
And many people are afraid to ask.

Sometimes we all need a mask
In order to complete a certain task,
But we have to also be ourselves
Cause we are humans, we're not elves.

Le usiamo per nascondere i nostri sentimenti
Le usiamo per evitare brutti commenti,
Le usiamo ogni giorno
Per non mostrarci a chi abbiamo attorno.

Molto spesso una maschera siam costretti ad usare
Perché altrimenti certe cose non le potremmo fare,
Ma poi di toglierla, ci dimentichiamo
E non sappiamo più chi realmente siamo.

Molte volte le usiamo
Per nascondere chi realmente siamo,
Ma tanto prima o poi si va a scoprire
E in quel momento, tutto può finire.

Se non vi piace ciò che siete
Oppure ciò che avete,
Provate a cambiare
Così la maschera non dovrete più indossare.
