SteemitPoetryContest # 13 Witches/Streghe
Hi everyone, This is my entry for SteemitPoetryContest # 13, hosted by @terrycraft at which many talented poets are participating with their entries.
He hosts this contest every week and this is the first time I take part.
The theme for this week is: WITCHES/COVEN
They call me a witch
And they think I'm evil,
We were burned and thrown into a ditch
Accused of worshiping the devil.
The different plants from nature we used
To make potions and cure any disease,
Now nature by them is abused
And for a cure, you have to pay fees.
They used us as an excuse
To kill everyone against Christianity,
They burned gypsies they burned jews
They committed the worst crimes against humanity.
They also burned books and lots of knowledge
So they could rewrite history,
That they will teach you in college
While the life of a witch will be a mystery.
Tutti mi chiamano strega
E per loro rappresento il male,
Solo perchè sono una, che la loro religione rinnega
Bruciare quelle come me, per loro era una cosa normale.
Noi usavamo le piante che la natura ci offriva
Per far pozzioni e curare le persone,
A quei tempi pagare per una cura non serviva
Oggi se non paghi, muori anche per un infezione.
Ci usarono come scusa
Per uccidere i loro nemici,
Con la stregoneria come capo d'accusa
Anche zingari ed ebrei furono uccisi.
Bruciarono libri e testi sacri
Per poter riscrivere la storia,
Giustificando tutti quei massacri
E contro il male dissero che fù una vittoria.

Tra l'altro pochi giorni fa ho scoperto che facevano dei veri e propri libri sui processi alle streghe. Con il resoconto delle vicende giudiziarie

Questo resoconto la maggior parte delle volte era falsificato dato che la "strega" era presa a sassate o torturata fino a quando ammetteva di essere una strega, quindi non era proprio un processo.
