Pictures from Kenosha, Wisconsin

in #photography6 years ago (edited)

While in Wisconsin, my friend also took me to Kenosha, which is the busier local area with downtown restaurants and a beach. Here’s my experience.

These teenagers on the dock were doing…something…with a squid in a paper bag…and dunking it in water. Whatever happened to good ol’ fashion graffiti. This is somehow Spongebob’s fault.

Regardless of squid shenanigans, the water looked exceptionally inviting.

This stretch in particular looked like something out of a painting. I know it’s city planning, but it still looked very nice.

Walking along that painting path.

This is a postcard waiting to happen.

At the end of the pier were some serious leg-breaking rocks. These bitches are slippery, don’t be a hero.

I need a camera filter to remove all telephone poles.

This tree is a perfect specimen. This is the quarterback who bangs the prom queen of trees, don’t mind the Chad-like qualities, just appreciate the beauty for a minute.

I’m a sucker for anything bright green.

This is a historic landmark, some old timey lighthouse the Navy used to use or some shit. The building used to house whoever was in charge of not letting ships crash at the time, but now it’s a museum that’s open 4 random hours a week.

BEHOLD THE RETIRED LIGHTHOUSE. With bonus water tower in the back ready to pounce.

More city planning with this sculpture and dead end circle that confused motorists arrive at every few minutes. At least they were spared a K-turn and had something to look at while the GPS commences RECALCULATING.

This tree has seen some shit. Most likely teens fucking behind the lighthouse.

Speaking of which, let’s have a gander at this bad boy.

Pictures my friend took of the tree she planted for her brother who committed suicide. I think they turned out great and the tree is doing phenomenally well.

Either more city planning or some kind of sacrificial shrine.

Apparently both, they were rehearsing for a wedding so we skirted by after snapping a few shots.

Walking along some paths, I appreciate the empty space.

They continue to plant trees, which I also appreciate.

Something about this portion of the beach was unsettling to me, like it was built over a Kenoshan burial ground.

My friend touching a tree; she loves to touch things. Seriously, be warned if you go to a museum with her.

Neat shade of green with friend off to touch another tree in the back.

Bridge leading to a path containing more mosquitos than I ever thought could possibly exist at once. Africa has nothing on this stream.

It’s very peaceful with the stream running through, I sometimes listen to the sound of a stream at night to help fall asleep. All you can hear is the trickling and buzzing of mosquitos.

The way the sun gleams off the water like a perfectly white tooth of a K-pop boy band member’s smile.

This area looked like somewhere Harry Potter cosplay actors practice.

Stopped to take a picture of this bug and got swarmed by skeeters.

This was the last shot I took before I had enough of the mosquitos. I hate mosquitos. I mean I seriously hate mosquitos. If you take nothing else from this blog, just know that I think that mosquitos are smelly and stupid. I have an appreciation for all living things, except mosquitos, they can die in a fire.
