Why Helpies should use TipU

A few weeks ago, during one of the Helpienaut meetings, @meno and I chatted a bit about @tipu (and thank goodness a recording doesn't exist, because I kept saying, "Tip-pooo" - LOL!). I offered to put together a post about why Helpies should consider using this TIP YOU (see brain - not Ooooo, it's YOU!) service.

So first up, what exactly is this tipu thing? Here's a quick description from the owner (and wicked cool dude) of the account, @cardboard, from the post - Introducing @tipU - service for super easy sending tips, promoting and sharing profit on steemit :)-

What is @tipU in 3 seconds:

Write tip! anywhere in the comment under a post - author of this post will
receive small amount of SBD from you and you will get share in the service profit :)

Cool, right? It's like you're some rich hot shot with a personal assistant. However, if you don't give your PA some cash first, this will happen...

The Basics

I know that recently, there was mention of a new TipU guide coming out soon, so I won't get into too much detail here. Also, given how my brain has been lately, there is a very high probability that I've somehow messed something up - if so, my apologies, @cardboard! But essentially, it goes like this -

To Tip

• Send SBD to @tipU (the minimal for one tip is 0.1 SBD) with a blank memo
• Write tip! or Tip! in the comment section of the person's post. Make sure there's no text (not even an emoji) after the word.

Works

This is great - tip!

Love this. Tip!

Doesn't work

Too cool. Tip! :)

To Upvote

• Send a minimum of 0.100 SBD to @tipU with link to the post in memo (like when using voting bots)

or

• Have at least 0.100 SBD balance in your TipU deposit, then write a comment with word tipuvote! under the post that you want upvoted

To check your balance

• Send 0.001 SBD to @tipu and in the memo, simply say - balance
• Tipu will return the SBD to your wallet a few moments later with a memo like "Your total deposit: 0.154 SBD which gives you 0.01 % share in the service earnings."

Why is this a cool thing for Helpies?

I got my first tip in January 2018 from @dswigle (and my second on the same post, from @tattoodjay) and it totally and completely made my day! Granted. $0.10 isn't much in the grand scheme of things, but it was the intent behind it. Someone liked my stuff enough to go beyond clicking the upvote button!

Then I started doing the tip and upvote thing for people, and had some awesome responses! For instance, on this post from last month by @dannyhamilton -

Helpie and TipU go together like coffee and chocolate cake

So what is my point? Wait, did I have one.... yes, I remember! What I'm trying to say is -

• Chocolate cake (Helpie) is yummy and makes people happy
• Coffee (TipU) is yummy and makes people happy
• Together - twice as much yummy and happy!

The Homework

Hey, don't look at me like that! I was told by @meno and @pechichemena that I had their permission to give you all some wicked hard homework, which is my favorite and did I mention I'm a former homeschooling mother? muahahaha... giving an assignment would be a helpie-ful thing.

So here it is -
