# 14 Promoting Negros / Food Category / The Dumaguete City "The Puto and Tsokolate " in Negros Oriental "

Hi welcome to Negros we are now on the 14th post to promote my province!
Now lets visit the city of Dumaguete in Southern Negros The capital city of Negros Oriental
Last March 31, 2018 we had our first steemphnegros meet-up in Dumaguete City and after that day we explore the place.
Together with @flabbergast-art and @bobiecayao who served as our tour guide in Dumaguete.
It is easy for us to identify or go into places that we are not familiar, like this famous and favorite place. Where people of Dumaguete eat " puto " sticky rice " and drink hot beverages like cocoa every morning.

Together with them, we took our breakfast at the market just to experience the " Puto " and " Tsokolate " .
The puto in Negros Occidental is different from the puto in Dumaguete. It is a steamed and refined rice with soft texture, while in Dumaguete it is a sticky cooked rice and we called that suman in Bacolod.

The puto is poured with tsokolate and partner with hot cocoa or milk. One scoop of puto cost 10 pesos, 1 cup of hot cocoa cost 5 pesos and one small cup of concentrated cocoa cost 10 pesos.

It is my first time to eat a sticky rice poured with tsokolate and the taste is so good, perfect for breakfast.
Many people come into the place, some eat there and some take home the " puto ".

The best thing that I notice while we are eating are the cups labeled with Dumaguete.
That really catches my interest and filled me with excitement while eating our breakfast.

After we took our breakfast at the market, we decided to take a walk while exploring the city of Dumaguete.
We visited the old church, public plaza and go on the roof deck in one of the tallest hotel in Dumaguete. For us to see the whole city of Dumaguete in different angles.
