Street Photos " Silaynon and Ancestral houses of Silay City Negros Occidental "

Early this morning at the Silay city proper we walk around to find an atm machine to withdraw. I bring my camera together with me so that I could take picture on the ancestral houses.
Silay is often referred to as the "Capital Artística de Negros" due to its artists, cultural shows and large collection of perfectly preserved heritage houses. More than thirty of these houses have been declared by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines as part of the Silay National Historical Landmark.

The people of Silay is called " Silaynon "got from the name of the city. Where Silay is derived from the Legendary story of a Princess named Kansilay a brave women who fought from the pirate invaders. Princes Kansilay lived during the Raja's and Datu's history. Princes Kansilay was died and buried, from her grave there is a tree the grow and they called it Kansilay Tree. Thats why it is also called Silay City got from Princess name " Kansilay ".

There is also a story that's why Silay is prone to flood if there is a heavy rain fall. One day at nigh there is a kid knocking some houses and he is asking for water to drink because he is so thirsty. But no one give water to this kid, the kid response " Because of your selfish attitude, Silay will suffer from extreme flood everytime the rain falls " . After that the kid disappear and days after Silay experience flood that no one can explain why it happens, this rumors spread not only in Silay and now it is known already to Negros Island. They believed that kid is " Sto. Nino that disguised to test people of Silay and they failed to pass that test. The Funny thing Silay people are called selfish because of that rumors.
