For the upcoming project of " A Walk of Hope " here in Negros to be conducted by an artist @flabbergast-art and his team.

I made a research from web about the next prospect and their target. Which is the Bayawan City the major producer of Bamboo Products and the remarking Bamboo framed bikes.

I have no idea about that there is bike made from wood to be specific " Kawayan or bamboo " . I was informed by one of the @bayanihan respected member and initiator of this project to promote Filipino livelihood.

I provided images that I grabbed from the web indicating the sources for your opportunity as well to visit the website and check the details which is not provided here in my post..

Bayawan City is well known for its vast field of Bamboo's with a good a quality of wood that can be used for any handy crafts or building houses made of light materials. I visited the relocation houses in Silay City and the main materials that they use to build hundreds of residential houses is made from bamboo, combined with cement, plain metal sheets and metal bars. Which is a very good concept to create a house from less costs. Bamboo is cheaper than coco lumbers the selling mode of bamboo here in Negros is by " Layon " or " one long bamboo pole " .

Not only in Bayawan there are municipalities that major source of building material came from Bamboo's. Like Cauyan, Bais, Murcia, Pontevedra, Valladolid, even Bacolod City have bamboo sources and many more.

This product made of bamboo " The Bamboo framed bikes " is an example that Filipino people are such a brilliant artist. They made an alternative to create an ordinary wood to extraordinary product results.

The Bamboo bike was published in provincial newspaper to inform public and local communities. That there are certain people in Bayawan making signature in form of craftsmanship.

Schools are the major target of these group that will allow students to discover their talents and improve their skills in creating handy craft. Where the intention as well is to promote the Bamboo Frame Bikes in community started with some integrated schools.

This will create a big impact to the world of art most especially in our Filipino Kawayan Artist.

To give you more idea, there are certain group in Bago City that helping their community that provides livelihood. They created product made of bamboo like bahay kubo, baby crib, sala sets, cabinets, kitchen tools and many more.. Actually we have sala set made of bamboo from Bago City cost 1200 pesos only composed of one long chair, two pieces small and center table fully sanded and varnished. That will improve the look of you sala using these native furniture's. That also last for how many years, all you have to do is to maintain the top coat or varnish.

Local community of Bayawan sold the said bamboo bike frames locally and planned to export internationally if the quantity are more than enough to supply the consumers demand.

Their target is not only focusing on the production quantity, they also maintaining the quality most importantly the durability of the product.

Bamboo bikes are tested to be flexible and can be used in any activity. Can also withstand in any kind of weather or can absorb any tensions during the time you are using it both short and long distances.

There are several group of bikers, mostly mountaineers using the bamboo frame bikes. They explore and travel the Philippines using the Bambike, that according to them the performance of the bambike is fair enough to compare in an expensive one.

Philippine Bikers associations support this initiative of Bamboo Framed Bikes. Every time they visited certain places they never forget to promote the bamboo bikes created by Bayawanon's.

Now people who are using it are increasing in numbers every year, that also added income as well to Bayawanons to support livelihood project they provided to local communities of Bayawan.

I hope that for the upcoming years Bayawan City will be the major producer and supplier of native bike frames.
