#7 Promoting Negros / Food Category / The Bacolod City Famous " Inasal na Manok "

in #food6 years ago

Bacolod is the capital city of Negros where you can taste the delicious and one of a kind " Inasal na Manok or Chicken Barbecue ". Bacolod is already known for this signature food like the piaya delicacy that I discussed from my # 6 promoting Negros post.
You have to taste our Inasal na Manok and say it in our Hiligaynon dialect Namit ang inasal na manok sa Bacolod means that chicken barbecue of Bacolod is delicious.

The chicken is marinated with special recipe of Bacolodnon addressed to people of Bacolod. They used condiment like soy sauce, vinegar, calamansi, brown sugar and other special condiments that make our inasal different from other grilled chicken. Then to make it more delicious and taste like heaven, the special sauce that is use to brush with its body while over the grill brings additional taste to it. As far as I remember when I was young because we also sell barbecue we used " Sapay ka manok or chicken fats that will served as the cooking oil, then atsuete powder or Annatto in English, then mixed the marinated sauce where you soaked your chicken overnight and putting lemon flavor soda. While cooking it in a medium heat and taste it from time to time if all the ingredients is well done.
Take note: because during the grilling process the more you brush that sauce the more it absorbs the flavor and do the final brush before serving the inasal. The process of brushing the sauce we called it " banya in Hiligaynon.

To complete your visit in Bacolod don't forget to pass by at the " Manokan Country " Where you can taste the famous " Inasal na manok " and choose where do you want to eat.

The Manokan country is located at the reclamation area in front of the North wing building of SM City Bacolod one of the largest mall in Bacolod City. If you are in the city proper the Manokan Country is a walking distance so you don't need to take any transportation vehicle. Just simply ask the sweet and polite people of Bacolod they will give you instructions or directions while smiling, because we known as " City of Smiles ".

My favorite restaurant in Manokan country is Nena's Beth because of its native ambiance and you can take a look to the Masskara displayed within the restaurant or you can even ask to take a picture while holing it. Masskara is the festival of Bacolod city celebrated in month of October. Where you can enjoy the street dancing competition in the morning
and electric masskara along the Lacson street when the night approach.

Bacolod is your access to tons of beautiful places in Negros that beauty is hiding behind the mountains. One week is not enough even a month will boost your desire to explore more. You don't need to go far beyond the Philippine Zone, I can tell you " It's more Fun in The Philippines ".

Like Mang inasal, Chicken deli, chicken house, El Camino, Bacolod Chicken Maskara, Bacolod Inasalan and many more are soon to rise. Not only that they offer special promos to lure more customers like unlimited rice, unlimited drinks, additional soup and many more.
