Welcome to Episode 7 of The STEEM Engine Express podcast.

The STEEM Engine Express Episode 6

The STEEM Engine Express is a podcast produced by Ethan D. Smith that features short summaries of five posts recently shared in the Discord community, The STEEM Engine.

Today's podcast opens with a special thank you message from my wife and me regarding last week's fundraiser for her classroom resources, so in the interest of time, there is no Featured Station segment in this episode.

Full transcript:

I'm Ethan Smith, and this is The STEEM Engine Express.

We begin today by going to the movies. Passenger @coldsteem has recently begun reviewing various movies, some of which are brand new, and others which are lesser-known. I stumbled upon the series by first reading his review of the Sean Bean movie Black Death. ColdSteem impresses with his descriptions of movie plots and criticisms of their shortcomings. He has also reviewed the recent movies, Hostiles and The Maze Runner: Death Cure. Some of the reviews do contain spoilers, so you may want to avoid reading his reviews if you're planning to see one of the movies, but I do encourage you to read his thoughts and respond with your own!

Planning to quit your job and pursue other interests? STEEM Engine passenger @maxabit shares his thoughts on doing just that in his recent blog, "I'm Quitting My Job, What Next? Tips for Planning Your Own Online Business." The post is full of helpful insight into @maxabit's own entrepreneurial journey, including how to plan ahead and what to do to get started. @maxabit also provides tips on scheduling, maintaining relationships, and seeking out freelance work, so if you are looking to venture out on your own, give this post a read for some encouraging words!

Pizza has always been one of my favorite foods. Whenever I have the chance to try a new type or style of pizza, it's always a grand occasion. But I don't think I had ever seen anything quite like the pizza that Steemit user @asianetwork blogged about this week. If you're in Beijing and you're looking for pizza, @asianetwork says to look no further than Tube Station, a chain with fifteen stores across the city. If you're going with a group, Tube Station has you covered with their Party Monster pie, a 32 inch pizza that will feed at least 12 people for $83! Just how big is it? Check out @asianetwork's post for a photo!

Over the past few weeks, STEEM Engine passenger @bozz has shared a series of posts entitled, "Took a Little Trip to Nashville." The fourth and final part was published this week, where we get a look into the last few days of Bozz and his wife's trip to Nashville, Tennessee. The series is a great write up of the various places Bozz visited during his time there, so you'll want to check out all four posts in the series to get the full Nashville experience! See sights such as the Grand Ole Opry, the Parthenon replica, and a chance encounter with some TV personalities! If you've never been to Nashville, check out this series so you can plan your trip!

We end today with a very informative post about genetically modified organisms, or GMOs, a topic that is highly debated among consumers, regulatory authorities, and scientists. Passenger @filotasriza3 outlines the background information about GMOs, while presenting thorough looks into the pros and cons of using them for global agricultural purposes. If you don't know much about the debate, or you'd like to read more on both sides, check out this blog entitled, "GMOs: Are They Harmful Or Not?" as a beginning point for your research. You might be surprised by what you learn.

The STEEM Engine Express features five of the best posts curated by the STEEM Engine each week across the Steemit platform. The Express is produced by Ethan D. Smith exclusively for The STEEM Engine initiative on Steemit.com

Thank you for featuring my post, it was so unexpected because all i did was sharing my love for pizza. thanks a lot!!!! Steem engine all the way !!!

You're very welcome! I love pizza, and I thought I would share your post so everyone else can go check out the gigantic pizza! I need to find out if anyone makes them that big here in the US! Thank you for taking the time to come listen!

does yr wife has her own steemit blog too? i would love to read hers too!

Unfortunately she does not! I've mentioned it to her before, but she just doesn't have the time to commit to keeping up a blog. Perhaps sometime in the future!

Honored to be included in the podcast today. I enjoyed reading about tube Pizza. And I have to concur with asianetwork that corn does not belong on Pizza.

It was my pleasure to feature your posts. I've enjoyed reading your movie reviews, especially since my wife and I just signed up for MoviePass, which I blogged about yesterday, so any time you review a new release, it will help us decide whether to go see it!

Glad you enjoyed reading about pizza!

This is a great resource to give a snapshot of some of the stuff that is happening on Steemit. Thank you for the coverage of my post, I really appreciate it! -@bozz

I gave @ethandsmith a shout-out in my most recent post. It is part of a homework assignment I am doing for the #dolphinschool class. You can see the post in my blog if you visit my profile -@bozz

Hey @bozz! I have GINAbot, so I saw your shoutout in the post! Thank you so much for that. Once again, I'm glad I could include your post here in the Express!

Thanks for stopping by to listen! It was my pleasure to include your blogs in this episode. I enjoyed reading about your trip, and I hope you'll do similar blog series in the future if you travel more!

Another marvelous job, i found other interesting people as well! Also thanks a lot for included me!

Glad I got to include your article. It was very well-written! Hope to see more like that from you in the future!

haha i hope the same too :P

Thank you so much for featuring my post in the Steem Engine Express Episode! It is a dream come true, since I had wished for it very recently.

I checked out all of the selected posts in this episode, some of which I had already come across in the amazing Steem Engine group, and all I can say that they are indeed the best content on Steemit.

The high quality of posts and engagement in the group is unmatched within Steemit and Discord platforms. Thanks again!

It was my pleasure to include your post in this episode. I've enjoyed reading your blogs since you joined us on the STEEM Engine, so I hope you'll keep sharing your great content. I try to spread the love with my podcast, so it may be a while before you see one of your posts pop up here again, but I appreciate you taking the time to visit the other blogs and support them.

Hi @ethandsmith, having had the pleasure of being highlighted in a recent podcast of yours, I wanted to return the favour. I see you've been briefly introduced to the dolphinschool via @bozz, but you received second mention from me :)

Just wanted to share that and let you know: Paying it Forward - Sharing Some Steemians That Have been an Inspiration is the post. @naquoya

Hey @naquoya! Thank you so much for mentioning me in that post. I did get a chance to read it, I just planned to come back later to comment. I'm glad I've been able to feature so many great content creators in my podcasts, and I have enjoyed following your blog.

Keep sharing your posts over at @thesteemengine, and you might just find one of them in a future podcast!

Hey no problem. There was no obligation, but your visit was appreciated. It was as the title said, me paying it forward, some more Steemians have heard about you, and what you do, as you have so kindly done for me with your podcast.

I'm at the Steem Engine every day, it's become habit forming. Thanks again.

Glad you drop by the STEEM Engine on a regular basis. We have so many members producing fantastic content, and I know they appreciate your support. I think more new Steemians need to grasp the idea of paying it forward on the platform without expecting anything in return. They might be surprised by the rewards of quality interactions!

I try to include more than the needed two from my visits to the Steem Engine. I don't always have time, but when I do I will. The role that TSE plays is huge, so I consider it vital that it flourishes. I don't get into chat often, but do try to communicate via comments.

I hope to be able to support TSE in other ways in the future also.

Well anytime you want to stop by the chat, we'd love to hear from you. Although, many of our members interact more via comments, and we're completely ok with that! You can definitely tell a difference when you look at the amount of quality comments our members get versus others on the platform.

We appreciate all the support you provide to the group. It means a lot!

Love this! So glad you included your wife and her thank you to the Steemit world!! :) That's awesome! Glad her class is going to benefit from wonderful steemians! Sounds like some great posts I need to check out that I missed recently!

Yes! I plan on sharing more about the projects once the posts pay out and we receive the materials. I'm glad she was able to say thanks and tell the stories from her classroom. We're looking forward to seeing their reactions to the stools since they don't know they're getting them.

Thanks for checking out the posts I featured in the podcast. I'm sure these users really appreciate it.

Nice work , you are sounding more comfortable behind the microphone each week. If you decide to go to Nashville I have connections in television there, sports or news reporting?

It's becoming more and more fun each week. I'll keep that in mind about Nashville. It's about a six hour drive from here. If I had to do something on radio or television, I'd want to do play-by-play for basketball or football on the radio. It's always been a dream of mine. Perhaps someday I'll abandon the chemical engineering and go after it. haha

Congratulations in the success of fundraising. I love the idea of fundraising and charity work thru this platform. Good to hear it can be successful. Already opened most of these in another tab and going to check them out! Can't miss out on an epic pizza! All about this GMO debate, and who really wants a JOB (Just.Over.Broke), lol... Anyways, thanks for another curation post. Cheers!

Thanks for taking the time to listen!

It was so great to see everyone's response to the fundraiser. I plan on having more soon, so be sure to check them out.

I'm glad you're taking the time to read the posts that I featured in this episode. I know the authors appreciate it, and so do I!

I enjoy supporting, and I appreciate all y'all have done for me. I will definitely be watching out.

Awesome! I think out of everyone on my feed you produce the most consistently good content, not just in terms of being 'interesting' but it all seems pretty community centered which is a really commendable trait for a blog!

Thanks so much for the kind words. Ever since I started blogging on Steemit, I've made a point to only blog when I have something great to discuss. Recently, this podcast initiative has given me a platform to draw attention to many other users whose work may not be appreciated as much as I think it should be.

I'm really glad you took the time to listen to the podcast and I hope you'll check out all of the posts I've shared. @thesteemengine has been a great initiative to be a part of, and I hope I can continue supporting members of the community for many episodes to come.

You're welcome, will enjoy following future posts like this :)
