About the Author

Arnold Schwarzenegger was born on July 30, 1947, near Graz, Austria. He rose to fame as the world's top bodybuilder, launching a career that would make him a giant Hollywood star. After years of blockbuster movie roles, Schwarzenegger went into politics, becoming governor of California in 2003. In 2012, he returned to his acting career, starring with Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone in the film The Expendables 2. Within just one week, the movie had climbed to the No. 1 spot at the box office, bringing in nearly $28.6 million. His recent films include The Expendables 3 (2014) and Terminator Genisys (2015).

Schwarzenegger endured a health scare while undergoing surgery for a catheter valve replacement at a Los Angeles hospital in March 2018. The valve replacement failed, resulting in emergency open heart surgery that proved successful. According to his spokesman, Schwarzenegger was soon in stable condition, reportedly waking up with the words "I'm back," in a nod to his famous Terminator character.

A little bit about the book!

Total Recall is about the life of Arnold Schwarzenegger and his life starting in Austria as a young boy with hopes and aspirations to make it in America. There were lots of descriptions of his mindset in his younger years, his playful attitude and a nod towards his parents for their mentorship and parenting when he was a child.

He speaks about his dedication to each field he was involved in at various stages in his life, whether that was bodybuilding, acting, politics or business he has always held a strong desire to learn and to be the best possible version of himself. The book claims these things; however, it is an autobiography, so we will never know if this is true. Despite other people's views of Arnold Schwarzenegger, you cannot deny that he has achieved great things, coming from such a modest background and that his life paves for us some valuable life lessons.

What I got most from the book is that you should always be keen to learn, and not to take life so seriously... It is essential to have fun every now and again!

Worth a read, it is fun, engaging and has some valuable lessons we should all learn.

Be Exceptional!
