The Magic of Thinking Big is another fantastic self-improvement book which is designed to make you realise that your potential is limitless if you truly believe you can achieve what you desire.

The late David Joseph Schwartz was a professor at Georgia State University, Atlanta, and was considered a leading American authority on motivation. He was also President of Creative Educational Services, a consulting firm specialising in leadership development.

Starting from a one-room schoolhouse in rural Indiana, David J. Schwartz went on to become the president of his own company and lecturer to more than three thousand trade associations, sales groups and management seminars.

Millions of people throughout the world have improved their lives by reading books by Dr David J. Schwartz, long regarded as one of the foremost experts on motivation, whose teachings will help you sell better, manage better, earn more money, and -- most important of all -- find greater happiness and peace of mind.

A little bit about the book

The magic of thinking big was first published in 1959 and is still to this day regarded as one of the best self-improvement books ever written. It is written in a style that is so easy to read and it really allows you to implement its teachings right away.
Schwartz achieves this by making the book personable, talking directly to the reader and providing multiple examples to get his point across.

I personally love the book because of how applicable to everyday life it is. Even in 2018, the way that human beings function on an intrinsic level hasn't really changed much. The way that the normal human being thinks behaves and feels is still the same and Schwartz highlights the main ways that we can influence society and our own thinking to achieve greatness. It is similar to Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence people in this respect in how to deal with people in order to create a great life for yourself.

I believe that in order to live a fulfilled life you need to achieve a balance in a few different areas:

  1. Your relationships
    a) With others
    b) With yourself
  2. Your Wealth
  3. Your health and wellbeing
  4. Your happiness
  5. Your sense of purpose

If your day-to-day behaviour and habits align with your personal goals in each of those 5 areas then you cannot go wrong. Your life will be great, and you will be in the process of thinking BIG - regardless of how others view your goals.

I don't think that life has to be as hard as we make it for ourselves, especially if you are born in the western world - it is your responsibility to think BIG and make the most out of your life.

David J. Schwartz' book definitely highlights the ways you can create the zeal to achieve greatness - I can't recommend it enough.

Have a great weekend!

Take care!
