Celebrating Beer Saturday's 1st birthday with a lovely cold IPA!
One Year of Beer Saturdays!
This is a picture of @detlev, when the beersaturday idea came to him!! The man was on fire.... What an idea, and one year later, as strong as ever, with many regulars and occasional visitors alike.
Well, I can't say that I was here from the start, but since first posting here at Beersaturday 4 months ago, I have posted every week since, and made some really good friends in the process. I love Beersaturday and hearing about all the different beers, from @dennisauburn's funny stories, to @mdosev's great photos and start up craft beer stories to @irreverent-dan's brilliant video logs and everything in between!!
Is that really @detlev?
Ok, so that's not @detlev, that's a dude I photographed on Koh Tao, Thailand ten years ago, but you get the idea, @detlev started something wonderful all those moons ago, so a huge thank you to him and the indeed the sponsors @ats-david @pfunk @twinner @reggaemuffin @Beerchaintech who make this weekly contest possible.
I propose a toast
To the sponsors and organiser of Beersaturday... Thanks lads.....
That's lovely @ablaze, but where is the review?
Ok, ok keep your knickers on! Here we go....
This weeks beer of the week is.....
Wood Key's The Hunted Deer Indian Pale Ale
Intro
For the week that was in it, I picked this one that had been chilling in my fridge for a while...
What good is beer, without some good food though, and what is king of the foods? Yep, Steak man!! Nothing like a big juicy steak washed down with an icy cold IPA. FACT!
The hunted deer, looks on thanking his lucky stars, I'm not having Venison...
Did I mention juicy?
Review
Ok, moving swiftly along to the beer... This is in danger of morphing into a steak review!! :o)
This one poured a nice dark amber colour, with a decent size white head.
Flavour was a bitter orange, with malt and hoppy flavours apparent, with a piney finish.
The Grapefruit on the nose comes through in the flavour as well.
A nice solid IPA, not exceptional, but not bad either..
One last picture of the juicy steak glistening in the sun...
Mmmmmmmm Steak...
Really enjoyed sitting out in the back garden necking a few of these while listening to some music..
Until next week, one last time raise a glass to @detlev and co... Happy birthday guys...

Look at the sediment in the glass - wow
Ya there was just the right amount.. tiny bit of silt at the bottom of glass at the end..
See, we should have worked together with Mr. Det Lev the fire man drinking his Horny Devil! Next years. Cheers Dude!
What goes better with a beer as a steak?
Great to have you with this community!
