Leather is My Art Medium -- An index...AND Armadilloman has been on Steemit for 120 days, Woo Hoo!

in #art6 years ago

I have been on Steemit for 120 days (well 126 or so actually, but I missed the 120th day by being busy doing something else) To celebrate 4+ months, 750+ followers, 1500+ posts, I have put together an index gallery of the big posts and photo blogs I made in during my infancy, growing up weeks and first months on Steemit.  If you have followed since the beginning, this is all old stuff you've seen.  But if you are a new follower...some is worth a peek.

I have been a passionate (well most days) leather artist and craftsman for a lot of my life, having been first exposed to leather craft in JR High....in 1972...a long time ago.   And heaven knows I have screwed up a lot of good leather over the years.  But I did do some things mostly right and have been sharing some of the most recent of those projects and the "how I did that" magic of taking a plain ol' piece of cowhide and making something that someone may use for years, if not decades.

You would not believe the ratty wallet my Dad carries, one that I made him in about 1974.  And he still carries it today (despite being worn out and even though I have given him numerous replacements over the years).  So sometimes I am privileged to make something that lasts, and is cherished, for most of someones life.

So here it is in one place.  One Post to rule them all!  When someone ask for more information, I can point to this one post.  The first 120 days was a riot!   Maybe I will throw a real party at day 240!

Hi, I’m sorry to hijack your post but I will do this only once to tell that you have been selected for the Steemians directory. As not everybody is checking out mentions, I think this is the best way to make you aware of it.
You can read more about this new initiative here and I would greatly appreciate your feedback about this project.
If you think it has some added value it would be great if you could resteem the post to make more people aware of it.
Also, if you don’t want to be mentioned on the directory, just leave me a comment and I will delete your profile from the website. As I just added you, your profile will stay visible on the homepage at least until the next update post on steemit.
Thank you very much for reading!

I think we joined about the same time! Really cool to see your account blowing up in popularity. 😊

informative i follow u mate good day!

Your leather work are so cool, amazing craftmanship. Salute!

Craftsmen of your caliber are a dying breed... Your work is great.. I hope you get to pass on your talents to the next generation to carry on

Thank you @rloriaux for the kind words. Just not many American kids who want to work with their hands, at least that I have bumped into. So no, no young apprentices in the wings.

I understand that.. My kids talk about being able to help in the shop with me but when I hand them a grinder.. they run..
