The challenge for this project was to make "the toughest wallet in the universe." Ruggedly made from hand textured, hand colored cowhide with distressed hardware and biker chain. The leather for these starts out as plain ol' every day vegetable tanned cowhide. In this post from a few months back I did a photo blog on how I take unfinished cowhide, beat the crud out of it and color it to make the pieces I put my "Mad Max" wallets, bags, and hats together with.
So...toughest in the universe?
I think it came out pretty tough. Toughest in the universe? Maybe if I had used some dragon's hide and stitched in some shark's teeth. Maybe the next one...
I made a matching "toughest belt bag in the universe" and shot quite a few process shots and I will post up a photo blog of that next week. So FOLLOW and stay tuned!
