Two posts in each of the last two weeks and varied topics analysed. 'jingis07' returned with the results of predictions made months ago on data such as number of accounts created, and number of posts, and overall, the predictions made were way over the actual figures.

The author wrote in their conclusion:

The prediction didn't turn out as we all would have loved. The numbers are no longer encouraging. Users have deserted the platform and other similar social media websites have emerged, creating a competition.

.... I believe it is this pressure that has led Steemit to now accept ads, something we never thought would happen.

Can Steemit return to its glory days? I don't think so.

The fall of crypto currency did not also help the cause of Steemit.

A fairly negative conclusion, but backed by data it is hard to argue the opposite at this time.

In week 23, 'miniature-tiger earned a staff pick with an excellent dive into curation rewards as they are now, and how they could look if/when 50/50 author/curator appears when the next hard-fork takes place.

Speaking about curators earning more than 100% of their vote value:

... this practice, or the capacity for this practice, is currently very niche, with only 0.8% of votes earning a “curation reward / vote value” higher than 100%.

Under 50/50 curation, we would expect this capacity to increase. The basic "all things being equal" estimate from the above studies suggests an increase of around 5x, with 4.0% of votes earning a “curation reward / vote value” higher than the 100%.

'All things being equal' is a key point as it is very difficult, or impossible to predict human behavior.

Whilst a change to 50/50 would be likely to increased interest in curation hunting, overall the practice is likely to remain pretty niche. In my view it is unlikely to cause the type of damage to the Steem environment currently caused by vote-bots.

This well respect analyst has some hope for the proposed changes, and that is good enough for me.

Analysis and visual reporting

The aim of this section is to represent the current weeks activity along with a recent set of data. The current data span covers the previous 33 weeks.

Weekly Average Score and number of Contributions

The average contribution score across the 38 weeks of data gathering is 74.37% which lies in-between the average scores for the past two weeks. The overall weekly contribution average remains just above 3 even though this has been steadily falling in recent months.

Contributor Totals and Average Score

We have a total of 17 unique contributors submitting Analyses over the past 8 months or so, and I would love to see this number increase.

miniature-tiger leads the way with an outstanding average contribution score of 93. Four contributors have over 15 contributions assessed and scored over the 38 week period, and 10 of these contributors are currently averaging over 70 for their average score.

Review Totals by Reviewer (Scored/ Not scored)

Two reviewers assessed all 103 contributions that received a score in the past 38 weeks. A break by 'crokkon' has given myself the chance to review all four contributions submitted in the past two weeks, but I am still almost 50% behind in total reviews made and scored.
