Old Boots
Brutes
Wranglers ride an old pair of cowboy boots
The boots kick a stone I watch it roll by
A fire inside me makes my horse cry
To sit or watch with a sigh
Or give whatever suits
My boots some might call them brutes
They kick a mud pie.
Comfy
Soft and comfy a weathered pair of shoes
Never grow older though years pass with wear
My old shoes endured fire rain and tear
They'll last a lifetime I swear
Under feet that bring news
Keep me from having the blues
They'll always be here
I was but
A new pair of shoes just don't stretch like that
Shopping for new shoes is never a blast
New shoes are shiny but just don’t last
My feet think I’m in a cast
Soon my feet get fat
In my old boots I was skat
Now in my Asics I’m not skat but fast
This is an experimental form of poetry using ABBBAAB rhyming pattern and a syllable pattern 10, 10, 9, 7, 6, 7, 5 (10). As you might have guessed I learned this form from d-pend's Teachings of the Rain . my 40th poem in the Steemitschool poetry competition @d-pend.(Steemitschool Discord) All photos here can be found at pixabay.com.

Verse of the Day/ Ecclesiastes 7:8-11
“The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride. Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools. Do not say, ‘Why were the old days better than these?’ For it is not wise to ask such questions. Wisdom, like an inheritance, is a good thing and benefits those who see the sun.”

That is so true @marufhasan. Don't want to throw those old boots away even though my wife would love it.
I like your quote at the end
<Some things never wear out.
That is like a memories always young
GReat poetry you have a way with words for sure
Thanks @tattoodjay. Your pictures are great. Every once and a while I will write a poem about them if you don't mind.
Thanks and yes that is fine
It is easy to settle in the cooing of the known. Comfort seduces and drags us. But, sometimes, it is worth trying to tame new boots, that the tasty process of taming is given. Excellent song and tight verse: "Wisdom, as an inheritance, is a good thing and benefits those who see the sun."
Thank you. @zeleiracordero. This is the first time I put so many restrictions on verse and line.
Yes it teaches me a spiritual secret to work with what I have.
The new needs to be given a chance but the old boots stay even if only a matter of formality. Thank you for your wisdom.
I am impressed that you use two languages well.
Nothing better than a pair of comfy boots. I had a pair for almost two decades ... I walked everywhere in them ... just had them resoled once:)
Two decades @prydefoltz? You win. You took care of your boots well. There are a lot of independent small shoe shops in Korea. I had to keep my boots at work because there was no room at home. :)
They were extraordinary made I think. I got them on sale:)
I'm running out of material to write poems about. These boots just kicked me in the face. I'm glad you are still with yours:)
I usually grab a photo and go from there:)
