Travel Digest

#1 Matka Canyon & Mount Vodno

For our first featured post of today @travelshots takes us to Skopje, Macedonia. You'll be able to find some cheap food here, showing that in Europe some countries are great to travel on a budget too! First stop of the day is Matka Canyon, with beautiful clear water shimmering emerald green placed in between a stunning setting of rock formations, it's quite the sight. Another place to visit in Skopje is the mountain Vodno, going the 1066 meters up by cable car, will leave you with an amazing view in all directions! I was chuckling at the fact that, all the way on top of the summit @travelshots mentions there is WiFi, haha!

#2 Newstead Abbey, Nottinghamshire, UK

For the second featured post of today @beautifulbullies takes us to Newstead Abbey in Nottinghamshire, UK. This abbey is the home of famous poet Lord Byron and has been kept mostly in tact. The first place we get shown is the Monks Garden, and somehow the ages have kept the vibe of the place untouched. You can almost imagine the monks just gardening around! From here we go to the Great Gardens, which holds the Eagle Pond and the Devils Wood, where you can find some pretty creepy statues of what appear to be fauns. Last but definitely not least are the Spanish gardens, which appear more organized than the other ones.

#3 Zealandia: A Sanctuary for Endangered New Zealand Native Birds

For our last featured post @stabilowl takes us to Zealandia, a bird sanctuary near Wellington, New Zealand. A lot of the birds in New Zealand have been driven from the mainland due to human activities, so the need for a sanctuary was definitely high and so 225 hectares of land got completely fenced off to let the birds live in their natural habitats. @stabilowl gives us a great overview of the several birds we're likely to find, with stunning pictures and some information on all of them!
