I've just returned

It was one day and one night trip from Kostroma to Vologda. Vologda is great Russian city and this is gates to Russian north. I was there once but it was in the end of june.
This time it was real spring and I even saw some snow on streets of the city.

I'm so glad I spend 5 hours driving to Vologda because It's great place. A lot of great buildings there. Temples and houses. One of the most important temples here is Sain Sophia Cathedrial.

Saint Sophia Cathedral is a Russian Orthodox cathedral, the oldest surviving stone building in the city of Vologda. It was constructed between 1568 and 1570 under personal supervision of Tsar Ivan the Terrible in the period when Vologda was the capital of the Oprichnina lands in Russia, and completed in 1587. The cathedral is located on the right bank of the Vologda River, just outside the former fortress known as the Vologda Kremlin.

There's one more important monument in Vologda.

The monument to V.I. Lenin on Victory Avenue is one of the two monuments of the leader of the revolution, established in Vologda. The second monument is on the Revolution Square.

At the intersection of the Victory Avenue and the Revolution Square, the monument to Vladimir Ilyich was inaugurated on November 6, 1958. The statue, made of bronze, is mounted on a granite pedestal. This monument was created by the project of sculptor N.V. Tomsk.

The leader of the revolution, standing at twice the height for the monument to the pedestal, is depicted in a typical pose. He is sealed looking down. With one hand he holds the collar of his long coat, and in the other there is a small scroll.
