Day 1 Steem Creator Conference - Morning Sessions
Day One
It is hard to believe that this is only the evening of the first day of the Steem Creator Conference. We already have made so many connections and gained so much information through the sessions.
I.J. did such a good job interviewing all the presenters before the conference and posting the videos on @steemcafe. If you weren't able to come this time - do two things right now:

Let me show and tell you about the morning sessions from today and you see why I think you need to be part of this next time.
Like every conference, we started with checking in.
But unlike any other conference, people didn't need any time to warm up. Connections were immediately made.
Some of us had only met via Steemit, others had connected the night before at a mixer I.J. had organized.

the driving force behind this conference shared his vision for both - Steem and future conferences.
We all (and I think I can speak for all of us) are so grateful that he brought all of us together here.
Then we took the stage.
Do you want to know how to get a local meetup started? Ask any of us and we will share all we know.
In true Steem fashion, I had my phone with me and was able to snap a pic of my fellow panelists.

After a short stretching break, the one and only Quinn took the stage.
In his keynote, Quinn Eaker @quinneaker shared his story of letting go of societal expectations and conditioning and figuring out who he is and how he wants to live.
He created the life he wants for himself and believes that all of us are able to do that for ourselves.
The first step is to figure out what it is we want.
Quinn offers a mastermind to help people figure out how to find success on the platform by being ourselves.
Btw. one of the many things Quinn does is designing clothes and jewelry. His outfit was designed by him for Steemfest and made of reused leather. Very cool!!
Now, it is after 11 pm and that is why I am going to leave the afternoon session for tomorrow. Another full day is planned and I am looking forward to hearing from many more inspiring Steemians.

Thanks for the great summary of the day's events. Wow! I wish I was there (long trip from Russia). Needless to say, I have two things to be thankful for here. First is that you were featured by @fitinfun for the #payitforward contest, which led me here. However, most importantly (the 2nd thing) is that I found out that you're a San Diegan! I grew up in San Diego. Graduated from Helix High in La Mesa (a long time ago). Thanks so much for all your hard work in building the Steemit community in SoCal and elsewhere. I wish you continued success. All the best.
Oh, how cool is that!!! My youngest son went to Helix High and I drive by it all the time!!! It was our second home when my kids were little and we were on a swim team which used the Helix pool.

How did you end up in Russia?
Such a small world indeed. I work in the energy sphere and Russia has a lot of energy. ;)
I loved Helix. I show the Google World images to my Russian friends all the time and they think it's a college campus. La Mesa was a great place to live as a teen. We lived in OB and Point Loma when I was small. I will be back in October. I will definitely try to hook up with the SoCal Steemian group while I'm there. ;)

On another note - are you and your husband ever interested to coming to San Diego for Steemit meetup?
Hi Marianne! We might be. A lot of it depends on timing since we have teens who are in school, family life activities etc. So taking trips that require overnight stays have to be planned out. But we definitely want to stay in the loop of when stuff is happening so we can plan accordingly and see what our options are.

We're in Pasadena, so LA County. Train sounds fun! I haven't looked into train transport much. Is it good to go from city to city in SoCal? I was actually wondering if it would be do-able for San Diego or San Fran? Have you taken it much?
When is the next one?
I am not sure. But if you follow @steemcafe you won't miss the announcement. And I will ask I.J. I have a feeling he is already planning the next event.
It is official - the next conference will be in Austin, Texas the second week of April 2019.
There is a chance for a Fall conference in Toronto - but nothing for sure on that one yet...

The event is getting mega from the looks of the pics. I already feel users are accumulating a lot of knowledge about steemit. Thank you guys for putting up this event.. there is a lot to learn in these few days you guys have set.
